1996 Chevrolet Camaro SLP Z28/SS Description

Z28/SS For Sale LT1

There were 2,269 '96 Z28/ SS produced by GM in partnership with SLP. They were made for 1 year ONLY!This was a production prototype run to see if the public would respond positively to brining back the SS. Also it was GM's first attempt at a partnership with SLP. This car is a nice little piece of automotive history, and is the only time you could ever get a Z28/SS. Anything produced after 96 was an SS only.

This particular SLP Camaro has exhaust and suspensions upgrades a step beyond what the crew at SLP did. It's lowered about 1 1/2" and has a Borla Cat Back exhaust that's good for an extra few horsepower. This is a black t-top car. Only 508 of the z28/SS were black. The paint is in good condition. It also has the Hurst short throw shifter coupled to the standard T-56 transmission. Only 363 of the black t-top cars had the standard transmission. You won't see very many just like this. Another similar car won't be pulling up beside you.

The car does 0-60 in about 5 sec. Maybe less for a really good driver. Leather interior and functional Ram Air are a couple other features. No rips or tears or extra wear or stains on any of the interior. The AC is currently electronically deleted. Literally just one electrical connection unplugged. Some refrigerant and a new AC compressor would be highly recommended if someone wants to turn the AC back on. This is simply because the AC hasn't been used in about 2 or 3 years and it's a smart move to refresh AC components when they have not been used for a period of time. At least I would.
