1997 Chevrolet Suburban LT Description

1997 Suburban K2500 LT (TOP OF THE LINE) 6.5 Turbo Diesel 4X4 (148K Original Miles, NO Accidents)
NO RESERVE AUCTION - YOU WIN THE BID YOU WIN THE TRUCK!!!
This model is the rarest of Suburban's and finding one in this condition is near impossible. This is one beautiful 1997 Chevy Suburban K1500 LT, 4x4 that carries the mighty 6.5 Diesel. The body is completely RUST FREE & comes with an even rarer factory color, Medium Mystic Beige Metallic. This truck has all of the factory options including impeccable leather interior, 3rd-row seating, rear A/C, factory tow package, HD Aux. Trans Cooling System, 3:42 Positraction, 4L80e Transmission, 42 Gallon Tank, Heavy Duty Rear Leaf Springs, 105 Amp Alternator, 4X4 on the fly with 3/4 ton suspension and drivetrain. The truck has spent the last 2 years in beautiful snow free Southern California. Both previous owners garaged and pampered the vehicle, as it was the vacation getaway vehicle so it has seen very few winter seasons as the undercarriage testifies to that.
I have a full history of maintenance from the last 2 owners and all of the current service records, as well as a clean documented history report and NO ACCIDENTS! It's obvious that the truck has been very well cared for over the years. All of the features of the truck work perfectly including the Automatic 4l80e transmission, 4x4 on the fly, power drivers seat, ice cold A/C front and rear, rear heat, 8 passenger seating with third row, power windows, cruise, power door locks, factory deep tinted glass, keyless entry, factory tow package, factory radio with cassette, & CD. Upgrades include, all new LED interior lighting, Bright White headlamps, Ceramic brakes, Skyjacker lift with Rancho RS 9000 shocks front and rear, Load Range "E" Cooper Discovery Tires Size: 285/75/16, relocated PMD, Auxiliary 20 Gallon switch on the fly fuel tank and a throaty 3 1/2 in exhaust with stainless steel Dynomax Muffler and K&N Air filter. New Catalytic Converter installed 2016.
This truck is in impeccable condition and you will be hard pressed to find another. It would make a great family vehicle for years to come and provide many great vacation memories. This is an amazing & reliable truck that you will be proud to own. It looks pretty awesome too.
Condition: This Suburban looks & drives almost like new. It drives straight, stops straight and hums down the freeway at 80 MPH with slight vibration due to needing new transmission mounts. The engine and trans run perfectly & have plenty of power to tow just about anything you can throw at it. The transmission pulls and shifts smoothly with slight vibrations at higher speeds and no slipping and moves perfectly through all gears. The diesel motor is solid clean and powerful. There is some minor seepage on the motor in typical areas but no persisting and no dripping leakage and certainly not enough to leave a mark on your driveway.
The interior is exceptional for a truck of this vintage with no rips or tears, except for a minor tear near the rear passenger door handle. All of the seating areas are in excellent condition. As you can see in the pictures, the paint & clear coat is very nice w/minor imperfections. Everything in the truck works perfectly as it should. The A/C works perfectly, front and rear A/C blows ice cold. This truck is ready to drive anywhere, in any weather and has a clean documented history & mileage. If you have been looking for a Diesel Suburban, you understand that these trucks are very hard to find in this condition with original mileage, let alone with a nice clean body and a mint interior.
Mileage may increase as I still drive on occasion. Please note that this is a NON-SMOKERS vehicle and always has been. Recent work in 2015 includes the following: · New Rotors · New Ceramic Brakes Front · New Brakes Rear · New Rear Brake Hardware · New Calipers · New ABS speed sensors · New Batteries · New Dynomax Stainless Muffler · New Exhaust Pipe · New Oil Cooler Lines · Diff Fluid Change w/New Cover · Alignment · New Wipers · Fresh Oil Change · Fresh Trans Service · New Key Fob · Leather Steering Wheel Cover · Professionally Cleaned & Detailed Previous Maintenance · New Crossover Pipe July 2014 · New PMD June 2013 · New Glow Plugs Nov 2013 · Rebuilt Transmission @ 130K 12/13 · New Tires 285/75/16 Dec 2013
Defects: Although this truck is rare & beautiful, it is NOT perfect. It does have some signs of age and minor imperfections as noted here. Small nicks and some scratches as well as some chips, typical for a 20-year-old truck. Also, some touch ups on paint. There are a few stains in the rear cargo area shown in the pictures. The aluminum wheels have some slight fading & discoloration, however, a little of elbow grease and polishing will solve that. Also, the passenger door lock on the driver's side sometimes sticks but does work.
I have attempted to be as detailed as possible here, however, if I have not addressed a concern of yours please feel free to email or call me directly.
Side Note: The 1500 diesel burbs have a 3/4 ton setup, entire suspension, and brakes the frames are actually the same. The main difference between a placard "K1500" vs "K2500" burb is not frame or drivetrain, it's basically the axle ratio. 1500 burbs have a 3.42 axle identified by my post and RPO Code, whereas the 2500 burb came with 3.73 or 4.10 axles. All diesel burbs have eight bolt rims which are a dead giveaway. Additionally, you can see the HD leaf suspension offered on 3/4 tons in the brake service pics I posted... If you look at the pictures, you can easily see 5 leafs plus the helper. This and all of the items mentioned above are evidence of the 2500 drivetrain. Not sure why GM did this but you can easily verify it by a simple Google search. Truly at face value, if you know nothing else, one of the easiest ways to identify the 3/4 ton suspension is to count the lugs 6= 1500, 8 = 2500.
