1973 Datsun 240Z
1973 Datsun Z-Series Description
This 1973 240Z will make a nice solid starting platform for a restoration with a clean Colorado Title. Overall the car is in decent shape, but does have a dent in the passenger side rear quarter (shown in photos) otherwise the car is pretty straight. There is rust on the door sills where the carpet gets crimped, but other than that it's not bad for the age. I would be glad to email photographs of any part of the car that may concern a buyer. The paint is chalked over and looks more like "Hot Rod Flat Red" with chipping in spots and is in need of a respray. Currently this Z runs and drives and the car fires right up with a pull of the manual choke then quickly settles into a nice idle when warm. The mechanical fuel pump has been replaced with an electric unit and works just fine. Over the years the majority of the smog equipment has been disabled or removed by the previous owner due to the absence of any laws that pertain in this area. I just replaced the master and slave clutch hydraulic system and the vehicle shifts smoothly through all gears while thundering down the road. Along with the tires, all the weatherstripping and body seals are in need of replacement due to their age, but there are several aftermarket distributors that have them available. After a drive and fully warming up the car will drip a bit from where the engine meets the transmission bell housing, possibly a rear main seal. The dash has the typical cracks as well and the previous owner simply put down some velcro and used a fitted fabric cover. This is a great classic candidate for a complete resto or just drive and do the work as you go, but it does need to be completely gone through and offered As Is with no refunds and I will be glad to show for personal inspection to interested parties.I will be glad to answer any questions and assist with the shipping if needed.
