1973 Datsun Z-Series Upgraded Autometer Trim Description

The story (long):
Originally purchased off a buddy of mine in Pacifica, CA back in 2009 with no intention to build the car up any more than it was. It had came with the triple Mikuni's and a shit ton of rust. Regardless, I drove the hell out of that car and would frequently take it everywhere throughout the bay area. That is until one day I head a loud thud coming from the rear end when coming out of a sharp hair-pin turn in San Mateo...you know..where that bridge is now closed down...off the exit of Bunker Hill Road.
Anyway, after limping the car home I parked it for a month and didn't bother to take a look at it since I was busy with college at the time. That was until Summer 2010...I got the itch to start working on it and started to find out where the sound came from. Turns out it was a simple fix; a broken u joint on my driver side rear axle. Me being young and naive, I decided to take out the rear end and spruce it up since I was down there....well one thing led to another and eventually I found myself to have nothing left on the car besides the shell.
I took it upon myself to jump into what they call the deep end and scour the interwebs for every forum, picture, and write-up that I could get my hands on. This was at at a time where HybridZ had no drama and people were willing to help like John Coffey (RIP). Well that and I didn't have to pay to post to the classifieds...which was also awesome.
Back to the story.
I ended up taking every nut, bolt, connector, piece of plastic etc and labeled it for the future when I needed to put the car back together. At this time I was getting pretty decent at welding and so I decided to build a rotisserie for the car so that I could replace the floor pans easily (check pics). This is where the Bad Dog frame rails came :) After replacing the pans I focused on the rear deck lid, doglegs and battery tray area. Most of which were common areas of rust. All those pieces were molded and made by hand by me.
Now this is the part of the story where things get really interesting...
My family was getting into some beef with the neighbor next door about their fence being built an inch into our property...a fuckin inch. I could've cared less but my folks at the time were anal about it and it costed me big time! Turns out that the neighbor calls the fire marshall on us and he comes knocking on my door telling me that my car is a fire hazard. Apparently you cannot work on a dismantled car in your carport regardless if it is covered. I thought it was complete bullshit that is until he said he either charges me $600 bucks everyday it is remaining in the carport or they tow it away. Scrambling for a place to put it I reached out to my buddy in Daly City who had a garage they didn't use. Over the next 3 months I continued to work on it in my free time until their landlord said they had to get it out and gave me 2 weeks notice. At the time I had no car and so I walked or skated for two weeks straight to Daly City everyday from South San Francisco just to finish prepping up the car since it was bare metal.
2 weeks pass and the car is back at my house under the carport. It's still on the rotisserie mind you.
Not even a month passes and I hear a knock on the door again from the same fire marshall threatening me once again...(thanks for the heads up neighbor). I had less choices for a garage space this time around and so I had reached out to a friend of a friend I met at a party ONCE! BIG MISTAKE! Over the course of 4 months I only saw the car a handful of times so I hustled to install the coilovers, tubular suspension, and rear disc brakes. On the end of the 4rth month the guy said he was getting evicted from his house and that the car was GONE!!! Questions were asked but i kept getting the runaround. HE DISAPPEARED for a month and long story short I had to get the police to track him down and find where the hell my car was. He calls me up out of the blue one day and says quit with the police and the car will be parked at his house. Sure enough the next weekend it was on his street at 1am. Fucker was trying to steal that shit.
Back to my house..Fire marshall again...and this time car goes to Brisbane with my cousin. Now it is on all 4 tires finally and has some glass back in it. 5 months later Brisbane fire marshall comes knocking. At my wits end I decide to be cool with Moms cut a deal with my family who has a house in Monterey to store/work on the car in their garage space (family issues prior). 2012/13 is when this move happened.
Worked on car in the garage and finished up the suspension, installed rt diffmount, the rest of the glass, and seam welded up the engine bay. End of 2015 come around and I'm finally finishing up college with no car besides the the 240z. I decided to work day and night and try to finish the car (drive able) by graduation. I bought a rb20det from Raymond Anderson and helped me put it in the car. I tidied up some wiring and installed radio, harness, intercooler, rb25 turbo, piping, exhaust, subaru sti 3.9 lsd diff, john coffey billet stub axles, rear sump tank custom with in-tank 240sx pump with walboro 255 external pump, new brake lines, bigger new fuel lines, autometer gauges, ffp setup, with custom oil catch can, and MORE I don't want to list.
You get the picture any way I ended up finishing the car a month after college ended and was the happiest person ALIVE!!!!
I decided to move back and is now mid 2016 to South San Francisco...the same place I was forced to move years earlier. I gotta say it was a hell of a chip on my block to drive it into the car port. I revved the SHIT out of it bov screaming and what not just to let the neighbors know that they couldn't stop me.
Which brings me back to today. I am once again put to the test and have court fees to pay off in addition have to pay back my folks some borrowed money since I've been looking for work. I want to say fuck it and start my business but need some cash. Sort of at a loss and am really devastated that I'm put it in a situation where I feel like I need to do this.
I have a portfolio of pictures of the build here are just a few.
I know how much these cars go for and the rarity that they are getting...especially with NO RUST! You read that right NO RUST!
Well the primer I laid down 4 years ago is starting to give so just light surface shit.
CLEAN TITLE if that even matters at this point lol.
All it needs is the body to get cleaned up and install the panels for the interior.
I've got more put into the car but for the sake of getting this far I'll save for talking to serious buyers.
I have flares and extra parts that come with the car as well.
I have tons more photos of the build upon request
This project is almost done and would like to see it go to a good home all that it needs is paint and for the interior to be finished.
