1937 Dodge Other Convertible Description

1937 Dodge D5 Sedan Convertible. Original Dallas Texas car. One of 437 ever built, not sure how many are still surviving, has an inline 6 cylinder with a manual trans. Engine turns (rotates) so it's not seized up. car has always remained stored in a garage. The original owner was in the process of restoring it before he passed away. It is very solid all over and pretty complete although there are some items that we could not locate such as rear bumper and tail lights and some other odds and ends. Running boards were from a 4 door Sedan but will come wit it All of the original dash parts and gauges are intact. The original seats are fairly nice. Please see photos, This is a no reserve auction and a rare chance to own this rare beauty. I have tried to take as many pics as eBay allows of everything to help with the description. Clear Texas title.
I have an excellent vehicle transport broker that can have it shipped anywhere in the U.S. or to the port of Houston if it ends up going overseas.
If you have any questions I can be reached at 817-217-4988 Monday through Friday 9-6 as well as any visual inspection. Please come by and see it for yourself during those hours. We are located in Keller Texas in the Dallas Ft Worth area. 817-217-4988

I want to add a few notes to description. I cant say for sure if the car was purchased new in Dallas Texas but it has been here since at least 1948 as seen on the original title that was transferred to current owner 1n 1960. If unfamiliar with Texas titles, 1955 and back cars used the engine # as the identification # (also leading us to believe this was a Texas car since new) since the engine had been changed at some point that # no longer matches. In the description above it states the owner was in process of restoring but according to his daughter who grew up seeing this car in the garage her whole life it sounds like he just tinkered with it but was in the process of removing paint and repairing some floor boards, but no major restoration was done or parts replaced just to be clear. I believe I was the first person in many decades to unsnap the boot and pull out the top assembly, I did remove what was left of rotted canvas. I believe the running boards are actually 2 door as they are about 2 inches short but fit shape of fenders so I believe it would be easy job to extend them and since the are covered with rubber should work well and they do have the mounting braces on them. There is also some side trim stainless moldings that he must have acquired that may be able to be cut down to fit convertible body. The windows all roll up and down. I have not tried to start the engine but it turns over and is not seized, the transmission shifts. The man who owned this car was an enthusiast who had almost 40 cars but this one meant a lot to him and unfortunately he passed away with some of the secrets and history of this car unknown. The Family has been very helpful and I have returned to the property and just found those hubcaps and will be on the look out for more parts as they wade through boxes and piles of parts in his many garages. Any thing I find will be included with sale as well as the families Phone # for further possibilities.
