1975 Dodge W100 Power Wagon Sportsman No Rust, Solid AZ Truck
1975 Dodge Power Wagon Sportsman Description
Attention Dodge Power Wagon Enthusiasts! This is a great short box, 4x4 truck with 360 - 4 barrel(edlebrock), daily driver, drives straight and sound, plenty of power and fun. Purchased from original owners son and there is some original paperwork and a clear title in hand. Solid truck that has been in AZ it's whole life. No rust. Paint is rough.
There are a few issues. I was going to restore to original but ran out of time and money. Remaining items to complete are, heater core (currently bypassed), electric choke needs servicing (starts right up with no problem, just a little cold blooded), beautiful original dash with radio (see pics) is not currently installed but is complete and is included and paint. I was going to actually leave the paint as is - kind of a rough, gnarly patina. The reason why the dash (console) was removed is because we were just about to do a complete re-wire on the truck. I purchased a complete, brand new 12-circuit wiring harness from hot rod wires, along with an 18-circuit OEM component package that is included with purchase.
The truck just had 4 - brand new tires (BF-Goodrich Baja Champion 33 12-50's) installed, along with brakes all the way around, master cylinder, fuel pump and battery. The engine was completely rebuilt just before I purchased it and has about 15,000 miles on it. There is a second battery with an isolator that runs the winch as well as the cable accessory on the front bumper. There is around 20' of very high quality cables that plugs into that bumper assembly. The second battery and isolator are not connected (again, we were about to rewire everything) but everything is there.
The rear, auxiliary tank is not connected either. I was just using the front, in cab tank. I'm not sure why it's disconnected but it could easily be re-connected. It's in great shape. The dash is in relatively good shape but the glove box has some cracks on it and there is a small dent under the passenger door. The steering wheel isn't original. There is a side mount toolbox with parts in it as well. The truck cap is fiberglas, and pretty nice/solid, but the prop arms are pretty worn out and should be replaced. Also, there is some play in the steering when you're driving. I'm told it's normal, and I didn't pay any attention to it after driving it so often. Seems like it could be tightened up. It's an old, but solid truck.
All in all it's a fantastic truck. It's going to be a great project to complete for a dodge power wagon lover - there's not much left to do. I bought the truck becauseit was so cool looking but I'm not too educated on these old trucks so I will try to answer any questions as best I can. Thank you for looking.
