1970 Dodge Charger 500 Sports Hardtop 2-Door Description

Pictured is my 1970 Dodge Charger 500 2 door Hardtop with a low starting price and no reserve. Just put back on the road in December after a 35+ year absence. As you can see this is a "Triple Green" car. F-4 Green Exterior Paint, with green vinyl top, and green interior. I added the bumblebee stripe and it is PAINTED on, NOT a decal. All of the lights, bumpers, trim for the most part, etc, were pulled off the car for paint, then cleaned and reinstalled. Car is equipped with new Magnum 500 15" wheels with new Red Stripe radial tires. The sheet metal was and is rust free and is flawless. I challenge you tofind a straighter car anywhere. The last registration before I registered it was in 1981, so the car sat unmolested for over 30 years (except for being home to some rodents (FULL DISCLOSURE).Not that it matters necessarily, although the title states "exempt" I fully believeand have no doubt the mileage on this car to be accurate at 96K miles. Originally a 318 car (I believe the original engine is available from the previous owner), this Charger has been upgraded with a rebuilt 440ci 7.2L V-8 and a just, and I mean this week, completely rebuilt 727 automatic transmission. I went the extra mile and had the KEVLAR transmission kit installed, along with a new torque converter of course. So the transmission should be pretty much bullet proof. The 440 is fueled by a Holley Avenger 4 bbl carb. Get on it and the car will put you into the back seat while the Flow Masters sing to you. The vinyl top is new and the roof underneath is absolutely perfect, no speck of rust or flaws anywhere. When I replaced the carpet, it was ditto with the floor pans, absolutely solid and perfect, with only surface rust on the underside of the car. Headliner is new, as are the upper door panels. The lower front door panels are original to the car, as are the rear panels and the sun visors. Gas tank, gas guage sending unit, fuel lines, and the drum brakes are new all the way around. Have no doubt that this car stops perfectly straight. The 3 core aluminum radiator is also new. The front and rear seats are original, with some minor damage having been done to both the driver and passenger front seats thanks to our little friends. Original material was purchased from Original Auto Interiors and professionally repaired. The front seats were just to good to purchase aftermarket upholstery, but new padding was added. I challenge you to find where they were repaired. Shout out to Lonnie of Tom's Upholstery in Haines City, Florida, who did a great job on the interior and the vinyl top. The rear seats are original and unmolested. The dash pad is perfect and original as is the dash and the center console. The speedometer and all of the original gaugeswork flawlessly and as far as I can tell the dash has never been taken out of the car, at least not by me. Clock is also original but does not work. Wiring is original, apparently the visitors were kind enough not to bother it as far as I can tell, but they did like the carpet. All the electrical works well in any case, and was thoroughly checked by my great auto electrician. The lights all work perfectly, front and rear including hood turn signals and side marker lamps. The front grill headlight doors open straight and true having a newly rebuilt electric head light door motor installed that is absolutely flawless in it's operation. Front and rear bumpers are new and are from Auto Metal Direct. The dual exhaust is new. There is nothing quite like the rumble of a 440 going down the road. Sounds very much like the Steve McQueen Bullet Charger. Awesome. This car does not have 1000 miles on it since I finished it so there you have it. I have provided pictures of before, during, and after, so you can see where I started and where it is now in the last 5 pictures. Oh, by the way, the AM radio is original and works great with the original speaker. I was very surprised when I turned it on. I have, and have had, several classic cars and this was a pleasant first for me, and should tell you something about the state of the car when I purchased it. Highly unusual for a car of this vintage. I am very proud of this car and hate to part with it, but have too many and must pare down to one. If it doesn't sell I will be happy to have this car be "the one." One added detail: This is originally an air conditioned car, but the A/C parts for the engine compartment forward of the firewall did not come with the car, and would not have fit in any case from the 318 to the 440 I am told, but A/C may be added. I have a great A/C guy and will be happy to have it done at your expense prior to shipping if you so desire. By the way, the front windshield trim is on, these pix were taken before that was done. I will add a picture however on Monday. The car was just detailed and cleanedtoday, and is ready for its new owner. These pictures were taken before today. As an aside, full disclosure, just so you know, this car was not built for sale. All of the prep, interior, etc., work was done by me and my guys in my shop, and taken out to be final prepped and painted, then back to my shop for completion. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will be happy to assist in any way possible. Car is sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. Having said that, pick it up here in Florida and drive it to California? I would have no qualms whatsoever. The last 5 pictures are the car as I bought it, the car in primer, the car in paint, then the final product. I have endeavoredto be as forthright as I know how, and am representing this car as well as I possible can. I would like the new owner to be as proud of it as I am. Any questions simply ask. I know this car like the back of my hand. Out of your budget range? Take a look at my 66 Dodge Coronet 440ci which is also listed on EBay. I will sell this car locally therefore I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Thank you all in advance for your interest.

Note: I was asked for additional pictures of the windshield trim installed. I have those but EBay will not allow me to remove pictures to include them, so if you wish to see the additional pix simply send me an EBay message and I will be happy to send them to you.
