1999 Ferrari 355 GTS Description

This 1999 F355 GTS -- arguably the best classic-modern Ferrari -- is ready for immediate delivery! When purchased from the second owner with only 7,700 miles on the odometer, a $17,400 major service was perform which included replacing all of the sticky interior plastics. The major service was performed in mid-2008, and in the last month has had another check-up. Scuderia Rampante in Erie, Colorado, installed their own fuel lines, as the originals were needing replacement. The belts have not been serviced since 2008, so if you follow Ferrari’s recommendation, they are due for replacement now; however, if inspected for their condition, you may not need to do this immediately.

The F355 was the first Ferrari to utilize the five-valve cylinder-head design, and it is an evolution of the Ferrari 348. With 375 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque, the F355 zooms from 0-60mph in only 4.6 seconds and continues on to a top speed of 183 mph. Rowing through the gears on this 6-speed manual is a real treat, as each shift is extraordinarily smooth and provides a feel that you just don't get from any other car, which is why many Ferrari purists prefer the F355 to the newer models. With such a simplistic cockpit, an easily disabled traction control, and a well-functioning sport mode, the F355 is simply more fun than the newer Ferraris. This is truly one of the most well-sorted F355’s on the market currently, and it’s in near-showroom condition.

Having been driven only 1,200 miles in eight years, it now has just over 8,900 miles on the odometer and is one of the lowest-mileage F355's out there. Inside, the leather and plastics are perfect. The only flaw is a very slight mar of the leather on the lower driver-seat bolster made when pulling the parking brake. The only other issue being the sun visors; the alcantara on both visors has faded slightly from the sun -- I don’t think my parents ever drove the car with the targa top on, since with it off it provides such a wonderful driving experience with the roof stowed behind the seats. The seats are not stretched, there is no dash shrinkage, and even the leather pouch on the key fob is like new.

Outside, the Rosso Corsa red paint glows just like the day it left the factory, if not better since the car received a full paint correction followed by a coat of Zymol Atlantique afterwards. Even though this was eight years ago, the car has been washed less than five times, and is still protected superbly. There are less than 10 rock chips on the front bumper, and they are so low on the car that you don’t even notice them unless you know where to look.

The car is completely stock with no aftermarket parts besides carbon fiber door handles on the inside, and the Scuderia Rampante fuel lines. The exhaust, airbox, and all other mechanical and cosmetic components are completely original. Comes complete with the original tool kit, leather targa top cover, owner's manual, floor mats, key fob pouch and hardwired battery tender. This beautiful F355 shows very, very well and is immaculate overall.
