2005 Ford Excursion Description

It's time.. I don't need it any more. I only use it a couple times a year.. I have owned Excursions since 2000. In 2005, I got a Black Limited Diesel and drove it for 3 years. I came to the conclusion that owning the diesel long term was not the best option given the 6.0 history and challenges owning it into the foreseeable future. I found this Excursion in Texas and it was literally the exact same truck with less miles. I got it in 2008 and have had it ever since. So in 8 years I have driven it on trips 50k miles.. much less in recent years since we are now empty nesters.

This Excursion is unmolested. The only things that are not stock are the wheels and tires, the rear tail lights (I still have the stock ones) and the AV system which gives all the modern amenities of a new truck! I also added a onboard leveling system with Firestone Airbags on the rear and Electric Brake Controller. I learned long ago - a level trailer is a happy trailer. With the touch of a button you remove any sag a bigger trailer might have on this truck.

The wheels are 18" Ford Original Equipment wheels off an 2005 Ford F250 Harley Davison Edition truck. I searched high and low to get these! In my opinion the stock 16" wheels looked too small but the 18's look great and ride great. With the wheels and tires - this Excursion has become the best riding one I have owned!

The truck has been garaged since I have owned it. If it's been driven in the winter and gets dirty - it gets washed in my 30x40 heated garage when it gets back. I maintain all my vehicles to the highest level. This truck in the last year or so has had the transmission fluid serviced, the cooling system fluid serviced, new Michelin MS/AS load Range E tires with nitrogen installed and new spark plugs.

The interior is perfect - all tan leather with the optional 4 captains chairs, DVD front and rear, CD, MP3, XM, Integrated IPod cable AND USB cable. The Ipod cable was run so it comes out in the front of the front center console and an IPod fits perfectly in the tray on the front of the console. Of course all this is still integrated to the steering wheel controls!Bluetooth Phone with hands-free calling and Audio, integrated back up camera - which is awesome for hooking up your trailer!The head unit was upgraded to a touch screen DVD player so the front passenger can watch movies too - if they want to.

Mechanically the truck drives and rides like new. The V10 pulls 10k+ loads with no problem.
