2004 Ford Excursion Description

Up for your consideration is a very well kept 2004 Ford Excursion. This is my personal vehicle and has been apart of my garage kept fleet since 2009. I purchased the truck from its original owner with approximately 40,000 miles. I have owned Ford Excursions since 2002 and hope that Ford will once again produce such a powerful and safe workhorse designed to haul the masses. I have decided to sell this truck as I have numerous other vehicles and finally upgraded to a new Yukon Denali. I have had great luck with this truck and it has NEVER let me down. It has been all over the great southwest and gets plenty of stares no matter where it goes and gets royal treatment not only in my care but also at Hotel and Restaurant valets.

Like I said, I have been a long time Excursion owner and they have all been diesels. This is powered by an earlier 6.0 Powerstroke and I have had great luck with it. In fact, I have never had a major issue with a 6.0. I have owned dozens of them throughout the years and learned early on that most issues started from a lack of service and lack of general automotive knowledge. I am happy to report this is all stock, I have not deleted the EGR, it still has it's original exhaust with catalytic converter, and I have never had any heating issues. My wife has been the primary driver since 2009 and while never really towed much, we did use it to pull trailers on occasion and it has made more trips to the Dallas Area than we can count(approximately 700-800 miles round trip).

I come from back ground in diesel motors and that coupled with my obsessive compulsive nature, means that my vehicles look, run, and perform the best they can. I own a RV dealership that does most repair and service in house, and we have a large wash bay. This Excursion has seen weekly hand wash jobs since I have owned it and the oil has been changed every 3,000 to 3,500 miles using Motorcraft Oil(I have most of the receipts showing the oil changes). As previously stated, this is the early 6.0 that had a much more robust EGR cooler, so I have never replaced the cooler or had to replace the actual EGR valve itself. Major service was split between my personal shop and a local diesel shop that belongs to a long time friend and neighbor. It has NEVER been towed and has NEVER broken down. I have replaced a few injectors in the past 7 years but none in the past several years, I have put a few alternators and sets of batteries, but have found Ford finally got a better supplier for the Alternators in the last few years, so I believe the batteries were changed last year with new Motorcrafts and the alternator is 2 years old. I have had better luck replacing both batteries if I ever have an issue than simply replacing one. I did replace the Injector Control module last winter after a ski trip to New Mexico. Small items like pressure switches and fuel valves have been replaced and I never hesitated to repair any questionable item immediately. About 2 years ago I replaced every wear item we could in the front suspension as it had gotten a little loose. It doesn't leak anything as I have coated floors in my garage and they are kept as clean as my tile floors in the rest of my home, this drives me nuts.

Ok, now for the bad. If you are looking at Excursions and know them like the back of your hand, you can tell the grill is a 2005 model while the truck itself is a 2004. I did not replace this due to damage, I simply wanted to update it a year or so ago. It had the large front bumper on it when I purchased it, so a simple modification to the upper portion of the bumper allowed for a longer grill from the 2005 models. I purchase a new Ford Limited grill along with brand new Ford headlamps and turn signals. I also had the bumper painted when I swapped all of this out and I went ahead and replaced the rear bumper off of a new F-250 at that time. I still have the original bumper, grill, and headlights that I would be happy to through in on the deal. In the 7 years I have owned it, I can tell you we have never wrecked it. However, in 2012 a City bus did rear end it and a police report was filed. Luckily it had a B&W Stow and Go Hitch that saved the rear bumper, hatch and cargo doors. I had the frame inspected by laser and did replace the receiver hitch as it had a slight bend. Should I need to provide proof, I and sure we can contact the body shop that inspected the frame. Also in 2013 my wife was sitting at a stop light and a large commercial truck came too close to her and damaged the massive tow mirrors, because the driver did not stop and my wife chased the truck down with 911 online, obviously a police report was made. I replaced the mirror myself with a new Ford Tow Mirror. I washed this truck so many times myself, I can tell you that I am 100% certain the previous owner never wrecked or damaged this in any way. I have had a door ding or 2 repaired via paintless dent removal and have had a spot or 2 touched up, but there is nothing to see today.

Since I have owned the truck, I replaced the factory 16in aluminum wheels with Factory Ford 20in wheels and Michelin 275-65-20 Tires off of a 2008 F-250. This requires a hub-centric adapter to achieve the proper offset of the wheel as the later trucks had a wider axle. This gives nice clean look and great ride from a Michelin Tire. I have replaced the tires a few times and the ones that are currently on it are just a few months old with maybe a 1,000 miles on them.

I do have the factory rear seat and this truck is set up with the factory "quad bucket" seating arrangement. We have only installed the rear seat a few times and it looks great. It has always had the Husky Floor Liners installed so the carpet looks new under them. The 4 buckets seats were showing normal wear so I did replace the leather seating in all positions, the 2 fronts are heated from the factory and they look as good as new.

While I am certain there are lower miles trucks available and many priced under mine, I believe it is hard to put a price on piece of mind. This truck has NOT been smoked in, we do not have children, and there are no disappointments. When I buy a used item, I find comfort in knowing the previous owner did everything in their power to properly maintain and service that item. This is NOT a "Fire Sale", if this truck sits in the garage another 7 years, so be it. I am not in to low ball offers and I don't care that "There is another one at a dealership for $5,000 less".

I do own a small dealership that is primarily in the toy business, but we do NOT offer financing and I will not give a warranty. My guarantee is that if you don't like the truck when you get here, I will gladly refund your deposit and if you feel I have made errors in its description, I will gladly fly you home. I will go so far as to offer a money back guarantee to anyone we ship the truck to(simply ship the truck back in its same condition as when it left, and I will refund the entire amount less any shipping charges). I would consider a trade, but know that I would only be willing to offer wholesale value on your trade. Please read this ENTIRE description and look at all photos. If you would like to have this truck shipped, we can assist at approximatley $1.00 per mile, my zip code it 79382. For those wanting to fly in, we are about 15 minutes from the Lubbock Airport, the airport code is LBB and all major carriers service this airport including Southwest, American, and United.
