1999 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am nota mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Ford Explorer Limited 4x4. The Ford Explorer is based off of the rugged and reliable Ford Ranger pick-up and is a very capable SUV. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. The worst I can say about the exterior is that the paint is beginning to fade on the hood and has faded noticeably on the roof between the sunroof and the windshield. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Explorer, there are a few normal scratches, chips, dings, etc...nothing terrible. The only rust I could find on the body of this Explorer is on the left side of the rear bumper. The rockers, fenders and underside look clean. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tailgate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels are specific to the Limited trim package and show well. They are wrapped in a matching set of Goodyear Wrangler's that look to have maybe a few thousand miles on them. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully.

I would rate the interior of this Explorer Limited to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The black leather interior looks good againts the dark green exterior. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age and are full looking throughout the interior. The leather seats are also specific to the Limited trim package and are very comfortable. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The front seats show some age, as shown in the photographs. The dash and headliner are clean. The power windows, locks, mirrors and seats all work properly. The audio system is the original Ford Premium Sound with CD player, which sounds good. The climate control system is automatic and appears to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time to check out each of the photos.

Mechanically, this Explorer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent for an older SUV. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The engine feels smooth and makes plenty of power. The only thing I noticed that this truck will need is some exhaust work. I haven't crawled under it but it seems as if maybe one or two of the little rubber exhaust hangers is broken as the exhaust is noticeably loose and sounds like it isn't perfectly sealed up like it should be. I don't seeor hear anything major, but I would think that would need taken care of in order to pass most state's inspections. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. I would drive this Explorer anywhere without a second thought. She feels rock solid on the road. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
