1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description carefully BEFORE asking questions or placinga bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD with just 136k original miles. The Ford Explorer is based off of the rugged and reliable Ford Ranger pick-up truck and has an excellent reputation as a rugged and reliable SUV. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. This is one of the cleanest Explorer's I've seen in quite some time. It is finished in blue and gray two tone over matching gray interior. The finish on this Explorer has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. Walking around the exterior, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about. The rockers and fenders look to be completely rust free...which makes this truck a bit of a unicorn as these are known to rust out the rockers as they age. This Explorer most likely spent its life sheltered in a garage. Pride in ownership shows throughout this truck. The only visible rust is on the right corner of the rear bumper, which is hard to fault a 16 year old truck for...and it's just the bumper, not the body. The only other blemish on the exterior is a scuff on the left corner of the front...which I watched happen at the auction (one of the old guys that works there bumped another car driving it into the auction). The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a proper set of Michelin's with good tread all around. This Explorer even has factory Ford accessory running boards, also rust-free. Please take your time to check out each of the photo's carefully to see how exceptional this Explorer is.

I would rate the interior of this Explorer XLT to also be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. Even the carpets look clean. The seats are clean, comfortable and show very well. The power windows, locks, sunroof and mirrors all work properly. The factory audio system sounds great and works properly. There are rear audio controls, too. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. She blows ICE COLD AIR. The cargo area is spacious and clean, too. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this Explorer.

Mechanically, this Explorer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. She keeps proper temperature and good oil pressure at all time. There have been no idiot light on during my road test. The big V6 makes good power and feels strong. The worst I can point out mechanically is a small exhaust leak up at the front of the truck. It isn't super loud, but you can hear it...I'd say most likely one of the gaskets at either end of the manifold. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. If you're looking for a clean Explorer that hasn't been all used up and isn't all rotted out, this one deserves your serious consideration. She is a fresh NEW FORD TRADE right out of Central PA. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
