1914 Ford Model T Speedster
1914 Ford Model T Description
Speedster was created from factory kit available in magazines in the 50's and finished in 1951. Was made as a fire chiefs car. All Model T running gear. First paint job shows gold leaf around the bucket seats. Second coat is majority of what you see. Much detail in 1/2 round wood work around cowling and other areas of car. Has original "Neverout" side lamps. Headlights are steel with brass ring and tops. Some pictures show steel rings, another picture shows replacement brass rings. Spotlight on top of cowl. Car is themed as a Budweiser car currently with old signs etc. Taillight is a black and brass 14 E&J style. bucket seat flip forward for battery and storage access. Box on back open from top and a small pizza box sized opening at the bottom of the box swings down as well. Lot's of storage for an open car. Car was pristine and still shows the details when first restored in the 50's. Car is weathered and aged, showing the current highly desired patina, classic car folks are seeking. Runs on coils as well as magneto. Has original "B" type acetylene tank with gauge. Potato horn works and is extremely rare. Has electric starter and I believe a 1924 coupe engine. Wheels that are pictured are demountables and do not go with the car, I will put back on the original 30X3 and 30X3.5 natural stained wood fello wheels at time of sale. Sheetmetal work around rear seat below storage box is very intricate factory work. Push type "ahooga" horn. Nothing really underhood for add on's. Go anywhere crowd pleaser for your collection. You won't find another, shows it's history unlike a perfectly restored "kit" looking car. I won't reveal reserve, please don't ask. Car is in Massachusetts and can be picked or you arrange shipping.
Picture with two people in the car show the early wheels and tires that belong on the car and the exact ones that are being sold with the car. I prefer demountables and that's the majority of the photo's I have, however there is a picture with non-demountables that go with the car when sold.
The car has parts early as 1902 up through 1925. Neverout Oldsmobile lamps, 1911 hard rubber knob throttle rod, 1912 brass speedometer, 1913/14 rear fenders, 1915 hood and front fenders, etc... early hood former.... honeycomb radiator. Later engine with starter.
Apologies to those who have bid. The auction was dumped during the editing process in an attempt to add more pictures. Sorry about that. Ebay regularly shows me a screen that says "SORRY, something went wrong...." I guess it did. Please re-bid and thank you.
