1971 Ford Torino GT Description

You are looking at anORIGINAL1971 Ford Torino GTSportsroof (fastback) originally optioned with an M-code 351C-4v Engine, C-6 Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakesand Factory Air Conditioning. This carwhile needinga full restorationisaSolidSouthern Carand is an extremelyworthy candidate with the GT package andit'sdesirablecolor combination!!

This is an ORIGINAL M-code 1971 Ford Torino GTthathas spent it'sentire lifehere in the Atlanta, Ga Area. This car was a driver for a number of years before beingput away and a restoration started on it.The Torino ended up in the hands of a well intentionedenthusiast for a Father/Son project that did not pan out. After getting started on the restoration the reality of things set in;it was decided that it would be best to sell offthe Torino and it's parts. While this car is missing its original engine and transmission the bones of the car structurally is in good shape and it is justwaiting forthe nextTorinoenthusiast to comealong and restore this car or use this car to restore their rusty donor.

This car was aStock Order at Otwell Motor Co. inCumming, Ga. and ordered in theAtlanta 21 DSO inthe attractiveE-codeMedium YellowGoldHue withaBlack Vinyl Bench Seat Interior.

This GT was furtherspec'd outwith theOptional M-code 351C-4V,C-6 Automatic Transmission, and a bullet proof 9 inch 3.00 geared conventional rear end!

This '71TorinoGTper the Deluxe Marti Report originally ordered as follows:

This car is an incomplete apartproject car and has been sitting fora number of years.Somewhere along the way the Torino powerplantwas removed and sold off.The previous owner started the resto by pulling the car apart and it quickly overtook his garage. When the Father/Son project idea did not pan out the PO decided he wanted his garage back and decided to sell the Torino and its parts. Since it was already apart it was not a difficult decision to start selling off parts to try and recoup some of his investment.
The car does still retain it's original Wiring harness in it,Power Steering and Power Disc Brake assemblies and the originalunderdash air conditioning components. Also included is the front bumper and brackets, Grille and headlight supports, and GT Rocker Mouldings. Many pieces of trim are also included with the car.
Thecar is basically a solid rolling shell at this time. All of the frame rails in the car are in great shape as are the Torque Boxes. Floors are still relatively decent, while certainly not perfect, they are not falling out of the car. Passenger cowl was repaired and the drivers side still needs to be repaired. TheFenders and doors are both decent on the car and the cardoes come with a spare set of doors. The drivers1/4 has had a section installed (see pics) and it was not the best job. The passenger 1/4 is the original and still a pretty decent. Trunk floors and drops are both decent in the car(see pics). Needs the battery apron patched and a new battery tray but besides that the engine compartment is really very decent on this car. Car has a couple of small holes in the roof skin, but overall it is a very solid piece. Car has the aforementioned rust (see pics) and hashad some filler used here and there used to straighten the body back in the day. It has its share of bumps and bruises but is not a terrible car to work with. With that said a complete cosmetic resto is required on this car. again!!
The Body on theTorino whilenowhere near perfect, norpaint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with. The Hood,Fenders, Doors, and 1/4's while needing some attention are allworkable pieces. You will most likely have to replace the decklid, though I have seen worse ones repaired. The Floors need a little work but really are not bad and theFrame Rails, Rockers, etc. are allsolid on this car.
You will need manyparts and pieces for this car or an entire parts car as yourestore it, but it is a fairly solid car that is well optioned and avery good platform to start with!!
TheBlack Bench Seat Interiorhas been completely removed from the car and was used in another car. While I do have some door panels and seat pieces that I will include with the car as well as the Air Conditioned Lower Dash Board, Instrument Cluster and Dash pad.

The caris pictured with an original set of Ford 15x7 Magnum 500 Wheels; that are for photographic purposes only and NOT included with this auction. This car will be delivered with the a set of roller wheels back on it. Though I can make wheel options available to a perspective buyer at extra cost.

Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as anearly 50year old project car that has been around the block and pulled apart, work started then abandoned to need a complete restoration to include parts acquisition, body work, mechanical work, and cosmetic reconditioning.
Overall this is a very decent original 1971TorinoGTthat is a fairly solid restoration candidate. This car would be perfect for someone who has a plain Fairlane or Formal Roof Torino that prefers a Sportsroof Body style car that is a REAL GT car or for someone who has a complete running original car that is a northern rust belt car that is just toocrusty to repair, this type of car is the solution to your problems! There are lots of picked over, rusted out Torino carcasses out there; but a decent do-able car like this one that is not rusted to death can be tuff to come by at an affordable price. If you have been looking for afairly solidTorino GT to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before another suitableresto projectat this kind of price comes along again!
The state of Georgia does not issue titles on pre-1986 Vehicle and this car's ownership transfer will be conveyed via Bill of Sale.
