Up for auction is a 1973 Ford F350 super camper special XLT Ranger. It has 55,000 original miles. Original red and white color combination. 4 speed manual, Dana 60 rear 410 gears, 2 wheel drive. The motor is not original. It wasrebuilt when installed at 40,000 miles. Great working A/C. Also has power steering, power brakes, and duel fuel tanks. Runs and drives awesome. The ride on this truck is just amazing. This truck has spent most of its life in the Nevada deserttruck. Explains the big tires and the over the top cooling system including an additional electric fan. Body is very clean. Only a very few small scratches in the paint. Some of the lower body stainless trim has a scratch here or there but nothingvery noticeable. All in all verygood condition.
This is the cleanest truck I have ever owned. Doors open and close perfect. All original panels, painted once in the late 90’s. Doesn't appear to have been jammed. Was told it was purchased new to facilitate a familyretirement from New York to Nevada in 1974.It stayed until Pahrump Nevada until 2007.Last owner was a local Ford collector and only put 200 miles on it in 9 years. The truck hashad the relevant tune up, fuel cleaning, etc., to put it back in perfect condition. Including a new Holley 600 with electric choke.
The only things I have found on the truck are the aftermarket radio doesn't want to hold a station. The cassette works fine. Steering wheel has a few cracks. The mirrors were changes at some point from the west coast style and chrome bolts were used to fill in the mounting holes. Gas gauge will not work. Has power and ground at both sending units. I think it is the electric tank switch on the dash but I have been unable to locate one. The mechanical transfer valve works fine. A few scratches on the drivers side door glass.
It is estimated that only approximately 2500 of these trucks were built between 1973 and 1979. Production numbers vary for the F350 super camper special, but most sources agree less than 900 were made in 1973.This truck has an extended wheelbase of 140 inches. The rear axle is set back approximately 8 inches further than a standard pickup and the truck box is specially designed to accommodate this. The special design gives a spare tire compartment on the passenger side of the truck bed and allows the truck to better carry the additional weight of a slide-in camper. The truck only has 55,000 miles on it!NADA Average retail in this condition is $13,500 - $22,000. I have a current appraisal on the truck I can supply to help insure.
Vehicle is for sale locally
