1929 Ford Model A Roadster, real steel original body, with Rumble seat.Feature car in Jan. 1999 Streetrodder Magazine, and a die castreplica model in 2000( see below for further info).Car was built into a Street Rod in 1995, and is built on an original Model A frame that has been boxed, and cross members fabricated/replaced. Chromed Dago style front axel, lowered, drilled, and chromed back in the day (50-60's). Disc front brakes ( Nova rotors, S-10 calipers, round back spindles), Vega steering box with cross steering. Chev Tilt Steering colum, Chev 350 engine with Holley HP manifold, and Holley carb (camel hump heads, engine out of 70's truck), Chev Turbo 350 Trans, and Chev 4:10 Posi rear end (drum brakes). Rear suspension are coil overs, with panhard rods front and rear. The paint was a custom "Stan Betz" color mix, both the main color and flames. The paint isin good shape, and 20 years old. I do have some paintavailable for touch ups, or just in case..
Some minor updates done in February 2016, including new Tach, oil pressure, and Temp gauges, also new carpet. The Speedometer is original Model A and I have never attached a cable to it, so I have only an estimate of mileage (approx. 15 K since built). The engine runs strong, however it wasfrom a donor car so I don't know the mileage on the engine ( its a mid 70's Chev Truck engine removed from a 69 Camero..)I built the car in the style and way that a similar car would have been built in the 50's, utilizing original available parts, not just ordering new aftermarket parts. The caris reliable, a fun driver, that turns heads. Dare I say it is "low" tech.. point ignition, manual fuel pump, fixed fan blade.. all tried and true technology. The car evenruns the original 10 gallonModel A fuel tank.During recent cleaning/inspection, I noticed some weather checking on the front tires and might be replaced by the time of sale. The car has a clear Title, and is titled a 1929 Ford Roadster.
Featured in Streetrodder Magazine January 1999, and then chosen by Car Quest auto parts to be a collectorsDie Cast Modelmanufactured by "First Gear Die Cast" in December of 2000 (see photo's). Since The Car Quest release of my Roadster as a collectable, "First Gear" has released about 5 otherDie Cast models based on this Roadster, all in different color, and from other businesses, "Ace" hardware, Sinclair Paint, Coke, and a few more.
The car is not perfect, and could use some interior work ( updating), but it is a fun, honest car, that turns heads, and attracts lots of attention at car events/cruising. It has given me 20 years of driving and never left me stranded. Please review the Photo's, and ask any questions you may have. Unlike some sellers, I built the car, and I have nothing to hide. I listed the high points, and some low, and have included photo's showing some of the imperfections.
