2006 Ford E-Series Van E-250 Extended Description

Hello. I'm selling my Ford hightop wheelchair lift van.I bought this van with the intent of making it into a handicapped/wheelchair accessible camper for me and mydisabledpartner of 20 years. But after some time working on it I determined that it isn't big enough to accommodate all of my plans. So I'm selling it. Please note this is a full-disclosure listing. I have described every little problem in great detail.I know that internet buyers may not be able to inspect the vehiclebefore bidding, so I am making every effort to tell you everything, to avoid any surprises. I am not a used car dealer.I know condition is important, and I am doing my best to tell you about the condition. The reserve price is set at $6,500.

This van is a good running and reliable vehicle. It has been thoroughly gone over by a AAA-approved, SAE-certified mechanic that I have worked with for many years. He fixed pretty much everything that was questionable or borderline, so you really have no mechanical worries with this vehicle.

Features:
--Braun handicapped wheelchair lift - works great. Note:originalcontrol switch has been replaced with a generic switch, but works fine
--Hightop fiberglass roof (six feet high inside)
--Extended length
--4.6 liter V-8 (motor replaced with a lower mileage motor, only 72,000 miles on it)
--Automatic overdrive transmission
--Front and rear air conditioning (one system, expanded, with extra Freon, separate blower and vents in the back, front and rear have separate fan controls on the dash)
--Bus-style seating in the rear: two single fixed seats on the right, one double seat on the left. The double seat folds up against the wall. Includes several wheelchair tie-down ratcheting strap clamps and floor mounting fittings. Seats six, plus one wheelchair.
--Title is free and clear and in my name
--Vehicle is exempt from New Jersey state inspection under new guidelines where older vehicles are exempt.

Vehicle has manual windows, manual locks, and no cruise control.
This vehicle was just thoroughly gone over by mymechanic. I can share the receipt if you'd like to see it. Over $5,000 of repairs were done, including new:
--Radiator
--Coolant hoses
--Heater hoses
--Motorcraft alternator
--Serpentine belt tensioner
--Motorcraft air conditioning compressor
--Motorcraft blower motor (ventilation fan, front)
--Fuel injectors (2)
--Rebuilt gear selector mechanism (shifter)
--Tie rod ends (both)
--Upper ball joint (right side)
--Lower ball joint (right side)
--Front end alignment
--EGR valve
--Oxygen sensor
There are some condition issues with the van:
--My mechanic said there is a minor exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold. He is not sure if it is a bad gasket or just loose. He said it is not a concern for now, just keep an eye on it.
--One of the dings has caused the forward side door to interfere with the front passenger door. You have to open the side door before opening the front door. But the interfering contact point is literally just one-sixteenth of an inch or so, just in the upper corner. This could be easily remedied, maybe with a little filing of the edge, or some firm persuasion.
--There is a little bondo just forward of the driver's door. It is noticeable.
--Two tires are just OK, two are better. The picture is of one of the worse tires.
--Front driver's seat has a rip on the seat and the arm rest is broken, it just hangs down.
--This van has higher mileage and does have a good amount of minor dents, dings, and scratches.
Vehicle runs strong, with plenty of power. Transmission and exhaust are good. Brakes are very good. The undercarriage is solid. Not much rust, just a little surface rust here and there. Color is Toreador Red, it's a nice burgundy or deep purple color. The high top, extended length, and wheelchair lift add a lot of value. The liftcan be used like a tommy lift or lift gate. This van would be great for anyone who needs to transport a wheelchair user, or for anyone who moves heavy objects, tradesman, delivery, plumber, musician, etc. It's a little rough around the edges, but overall the van is a good, solid, reliable, vehicle. With all the mechanical work done, you have a lot less worries.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I'd be happy to talk on the phone with you. You can come inspectthe vehicle at any time. Thanks for looking.
