1978 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT Description

This Ford is a great driver quality mechanically sound pickup. Factory 4x4, lived in the high desert of eastern Washington its whole life. I’ve owned 30-35 of these trucks over the years, this is one of the best driving examples I’ve had. The previous owner put a lot of money and time making the truck dependable enough to haul a 5th wheel or gooseneck, he got the truck done, but never towed with it or installed the in-bed towing components. I bought this truck from a neighbor, had my eye on it for some time. If you want a good honest clean 4x4 and don’t want to spend a pile of money for a cosmetically perfect unit this may be for you. I have the truck listed locally for $8500, 1st local or eBayer that is willing to pay that amount owns it, otherwise will be sold via eBay no reserve auction.

MECHANICAL

Original 400 M to the truck, rebuilt with low miles. Stepped up compression and RV hydraulic cam to give it more TQ and HP over stock.Edelbrock aluminum intake and electric choke 4 barrel carburetor. 4 speed trans with new clutch at motor rebuild, gear driven part time 205 transfer case. Dana 44 front power disc brake axle with manual hubs, rear axle is Dana 60 with a limited slip locker (posi). Factory A/C truck, the A/C works and is still R12, blows cool but not cold. Needs more R12 if you can find it, or I can convert it to modern R134A and get it working for an additional $350. Basic stereo, new aluminum radiator.

BODY

Body is clean, no significant rot to speak of. Paint job 15 years old, I call it a 15 footer, spot is peeling near antenna. We gave it a good coat of wax to help preserve what is there. Interior was redone and presentable, I would leave it. The cosmetics are decent not perfect, goes with the theme of the truck as a tough driver built to use. This is not a show truck, built to be a dependable driver. Please watch the entire video, I go over condition in detail.

Truck and title leave my possession after cleared full payment.
