Before we begin, I want you to know that like you, I'm a classic car and truck fanatic. I've also been an eBayer since February, 1998 and take pride in only receiving positive feedback over the last 18+ years. I've owned dozens of cars over the years and have made many sight unseen deals (many here on eBay) to buy or sell cars across the country.
In addition, I strongly believe in the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words." The Internet has allowed us in our hobby to search for cars nationwide and it's my hope to make you as comfortable as possible with this purchase. Please take the time necessary to really look my photos and videos over. Please notice that similar photos are not duplicates. I tried to take some photos in the shade and others in the sun, so you'll get a more realistic understanding of how clean this truck is. When you're finished looking, I hope you'll feel like you just saw the truck in person.
For sale today is what seems to be becoming a needle in a haystack: an untouched, low mile survivor, 1996 Ford F150 XLT, two wheel drive, short box pickup truck, with Ford's legendary 302 V8. With just over 52,000 miles, this truck has an unhit, original paint body (CarFax backed), never smoked-in interior, and one of the most well-preserved undercarriages I've ever seen. Many of you will doubt the original characteristics of this pickup and that's the BEST compliment I could get. I encourage inspections and assure you this truck is a survivor. I had the truck out last weekend and a guy asked "how many miles?" I told him and he said "it looks more like 5,000!" That's the stuff I love hearing...
Please grab your favorite beverage and take some time to look at 7 High Definition videos and over 200 high quality photos of this special pickup truck.
History of The Truck
Sold new from Hemmingway Ford in Andrews, South Carolina, this pickup has been garaged and babied since day 1. It remained in the Andrews area until this past winter when it was transported to Wisconsin in an enclosed trailer. The CarFax is available if you email me and it helps tell the low mile story of this stunning pickup truck. The first owner kept the truck right in Andrews, S.C. until 2014, when it was sold to buy a new pickup. The 2nd owner sparingly drove the truck for another two years and traded it to Wilson Chevrolet to buy a new pickup. I purchased the Truck from Wilson last winter.
After purchasing the pickup, I had a local mechanic look it over. Upon inspection, he found the weep hole in the water pump was starting to drip and one of the radius arm bushings were worn. In addition he noted the brake pads were marginal and the possibly original Goodyear Wrangler tires had sidewall cracking . All of the above items have been replaced and I have kept the old parts (I recycled the tires) for reference. I have the mechanic's receipt as well. Finally, the battery was 8 years old, so I purchased a new Motorcraft from our local Ford dealer. I want the truck to be ready to cruise this summer.
As seen in the videos, the truck starts, runs, drives, accelerates, and brakes like it should. There are no games with this gorgeous truck, it's simply an incredibly well-cared for survivor.
Exterior
I will let the videos and photos tell the story of this terrific pickup. The Oxford White paint seems to glow in the sun, which is almost unheard of for a light colored vehicle. Please take a peek at the cab corners, lower fenders, and wheel wells. This truck is rust free.
Although the truck looks stunning, there are minor nicks and very light scratches that I would consider normal for a 20 year old truck with 52,000 miles. It's been well cared for, but it's still been driven. Please note the gorgeous box and bed area on the truck. There are minor scratches in the box, but they don't photograph well. I was told that neither owner used the truck to haul anything and it shows.
Also please note the gorgeous chrome and original plating of items like exhaust brackets, latches, and grounds throughout the truck. Note the hard water stains on the glass that I did NOT try to remove. I've had good luck with a rotary buffer on glass, so that'd be worth a shot. Also note the light spotting on the anodized plating around the glass, the wear on the chrome bed rails, and the spotting that always seems to randomly occur on the center of the body side moldings.
Interior
The blue interior is a gorgeous contrast to the Oxford White paint. The interior is near flawless, with the only spot worth noting is a 1/2" spot on the dash that is in the video and photos. The interior has never been smoked in and the seat was covered since new. The original blue carpet shows like new as well. All power options work, the gauges work, the horn works, the cruise works, and the Air Conditioning blows cold. It all works.
Engine Compartment
The engine compartment is just as clean as the rest of the truck. From the underside of the hood, to the firewall, I think you'll be impressed. Please note all of the original Ford items throughout the engine compartment, including the hoses. Also, please notice how bright all of the plating is on the truck, showing it was stored in a dry environment since day one.
Undercarriage
I can sincerely say I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle that has an undercarriage as stunning as this pickup. I want to stress that although the undercarriage has been hand cleaned and protected with WD40, I HAVE NOT spray painted items. The frame, floors, driveshaft, etc have all been left natural. This is how fantastic a vehicle can look if it's stored in a dry environment and I wanted to preserve what was there.
Please note the original, rust free exhaust, Motorcraft shocks, factory paint dabs, and factory tags throughout!
So, Can I Drive It?
I've included video of the truck idling, driving and highway speeds, and shifting through the gears. The truck stops like it should and doesn't pull. I had the truck professionally inspected and made any repairs I would make to drive the truck this summer.
If you've been looking for an untouched, original, 1992-1996 short box F150 that you can just get in and drive, I think this is it. I honestly can't think of anything else to say. Please don't hesitate to email me for a copy of the CarFax or with any other questions. My name is Jeff, my phone number is 414-940-8848, and the truck is located in Oak Creek, WI.
