1997 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Description

1997 Ford F 350 XLT 4x4 7.3L Powerstroke.
If you're looking for a beat up $4500 diesel, this truck is not for you.
This truck is in great shape and needs nothing. This beauty will eventually be considered a classic collector's item, if it isn't already. It is a factory 1 ton, so it has a solid dana 60 front axle. This is a very desirable truck being the last year of the obs trucks, and arguably the best motor ford ever installed in their trucks, the 7.3L International turbo diesel and a firm shifting E4OD automatic transmission.
This truck is all original and has never been beat on. Original air intake in great shape, original exhaust system, original rims, and has never been chipped/tuned.
It starts up instantly, and has no blow by or smoke. The engine is very tight. Newer batteries and a great functioning glow plug system and injectors help this truck start and run great. It has been very well cared for.
I got this truck from the second owner, who had owned it about 9 months for his landscaping business. He wanted to trade me for my 4 door Duramax since oftentimes he has crews working for him that cannot squeeze in a regular cab truck. Since I am a huge F350 and 7.3 fan, I gladly traded. However, since I have 3 other trucks, I am listing this for sale so that someone else can enjoy it and use it. I wish that I could keep it, but I really just need the cash out of it.
This truck has many great things going for it:
230K easy original miles
Clean Indiana title in my name
Brand new tires that should last a very long time. Semi-aggressive on/offroad tire load range E. They were very expensive
New tie rods, track bar, and alignment- Goes down the road very nicely
Factory front and rear sway bars
4x4 functions perfectly- lockouts are easy to rotate, u joints are tight
Transmission shifts great, torque converter locks up nicely
Original 2 tone paint- looks great with the exception of a few small scratches
Rockers and Cab corners are in great shape
Oringinal interior- in great shape except tear in driver's seat.
Original radio works great.
Great A/C and Heat- both function very well, ac is ice cold and heat will run you out of the cab
Cruise control works
Power windows work very well
Wired for 7 blade trailers, with in-cab brake controller
New lift pump/mechanical fuel pump (the old one was leaking a bit of fuel in the valley)
New Fuel filter
New Oil and Filter
Freshly greased ball joints/tie rods/u joints.
Brakes are in great shape front and rear
Here are the cons of the truck:
As seen in the pics, Front driver's side fender is rusty at the bottom- passenger side is just fine
Bed has a bit of rust on the wheel wells, not bad at all though
Tailgate is not in the greatest shape. It works fine, but is scratched and bowed out a little bit
Doors have a slight bit of rust at the very bottom, it is just through the paint and not deep into the metal at all. Rockers and Cab corners are very solid.
Tear in Driver's seat
That is everything that I can think of. This truck starts right up, sounds great, drives great, and stops great. It is unmolested by the young crowd who want a diesel to roll coal and burn their tires off. It is very enjoyable to drive and will make a great truck for someone that wants to daily drive it or tow with it.
