1978 Ford F-250 Description

1978 Ford F250 Crew Cab Ranger XLT 4x4

The Ranger was originally a 400 according to its vin#, but now it has a healthy rebuilt 429 CID with all of the goodies, Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and auto choke. Edelbrock aluminum intake, chrome air cleaner and valve covers, MSD ignition, mallory distributor, and a MSD hot coil. C6 auto transmission shifts like it should, and has the 205 transfer case and locking hubs. Dana 60 in rear and not sure about the front. I was told it was also a 60, but I do not know for sure. All works great. Has the factory oversized radiator and never overheats even on the hottest days. Dual exhaust with chrome tips. Big block sounds great!

The body is in great shape showing a couple bubbles at you normal areas. Truck frame and body is very solid. This is an older restoration and would show all rust areas by now. (Check out the underside pictures) All the body panels grill shell are OEM no bad fitting foreign parts.

The paint is smooth and glossy, it does have some minor flaws and chips that would be expected of a driven vehicle. Paint has some areas where paint has cracked and bubbles from probably a cheaper paint job. The paint looks really good, but think they hurried on prep. Please see pics where paint or clear has chipped.

The chrome, side moldings and grill shell are in really good shape. The custom chrome rear bumperis equipped with a receiver hitch and has a trailer brake control in cab. Bed is Rhino lined.

The interior is very clean and nice shape featuring front leather seats with a fold down center console, and compartment under center seat. The door panels, headliner, dash are in good shape with no cracks. Interior has been well insulated on floors, doors, and roof. A huge upgrade than the factory insulation. These old trucks usually sound like your driving in a tin can. All rubber, seals, and felt are new. All glass is in good shape.

The steering wheel is the XLT, factory leather wrapped. The radio sounds great with extra speakers built in post between front and rear doors, also adding more insulation. All the gauges, speedometer and lights work. Dual tanks and switches in dark work like it should. This is a factory air truck, but missing compressor. All plumbing still in tack.

Truck has a Skyjacker 6" lift and a great stance. Rides on 16" chrome wheels and 315 BFG all terrains. Truck runs and drives straight, smooth, and comfortable. No steering walking in this truck!

Please pay close attention to the photos and I have more if needed upon request. The pictures are also a part of the description so please check them all out. This is not a show truck, but a very nice looking driver that will get more attention than anything out there. I bought the truck as it sits about 6 months ago with the intention of dropping a Cummins in it, but I have now gone a different route and going to do a body swap instead and already have both donors. These trucks are very rare and you will not be disappointed with this one.
