1964 Ford Galaxie XL Chrome Description

1964 Ford Galaxy 500 XL 390 4 speed 9" rear

I am selling this car for my neighbor who has owned it for 30+ years. Always garaged and babied. This car is the real deal. It has the Z code 390 4 bbl. with its 4 speed Top Loader and the 9" rear with 3:50 gears. It is all original and a really sweet car. Runs and drives excellent. There is no rust on all of its original panels and the underside is just as nice as the top. Trunk, door jambs, wheel wells, engine compartment all look great. The interior is beautiful and everything works as it should except for the horn. The horns themselves work, I'm going to try the relay. This car has some power, it really gets up and goes with the 390 and the bullet proof top loader, fun to drive. My neighbor is a older guyand hadn't been driving it for a few years and it had really bad gas in it,so I had the carb. rebuilt, tank drained, new filter etc., andhad a tune up done, changed the oil etc. so she is ready to go. It does smoke a bit on start up but seems to go away when she warms up. He never did any major work to the car so my mechanic said it may need the valve seals, and probably the hardened valve seats for the unleaded gas sold today. It has only 61,000 original miles. There are a few minor touch ups that have been done over the yearsbut overall the paint is nice, look at the pics. The hood and trunk lids are a little sun faded but it is original. I talked to a guy who knows Fords better than I do and he said this was the earliest 64 Galaxy he had ever seen. Don't know the significance of that information but apparently it was built June 12th of 1963. It was a southern car which would justify the clean, rust free body. He also said this car was built to go fast, hence not a lot of heavy options. No power steering, no power brakes, pwr.windows, seats, nothing. Here's your chance to get a clean, unmolested car that has all the right stuff.

If you want more pics or have anyquestions send me a e-mail and I will get right back to you.

Iwill gladly show the car to any interested local buyers.

There is a $500.00 non-refundable deposit required upon purchase.

I have aclear/open Ct registration with abill of sale. No titles in Ct for vintage cars.

I have sold many cars on ebay. Look at my feedback. All happy buyers.

I am more than happy to help load with any transport outfit you may choose.

Thank You in advance.

Would also like to mention that this car has all of its original body panels, no body work or bondo and is straight as a arrow.

My neighbor is willing to lower the reserve which I will do now. We are close. Considerably less than others of this caliber with these options.

RESERVE LOWERED
