This has been my favorite vehicle to ride in for 17 years. Very spacious, comfortable, and runs great. Engine has a satisfying roar when you start it up. :) We are going from a 2-car to a 1-car household, so unfortunately this has to go. The CARFAX report is available here. I have been the only owner since original purchase in December 1999. Mostly long-distance highway miles (over half of which were from road trips in the first ~4 years of ownership - you can verify this by the CARFAX report). Only used for work commute for about 3 years. Currently 138,727 miles. Includes Viper remote starter and Kenwood KDC-X500 stereo, Infinity Infinity Reference 6812cf 5"x7"/6"x8" 2-way Speakers in the front row doors, and Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 6"x8" 2-way Speakers in the middle row doors (stereo and speakers connected to original factory AMP & subwoofer). Here's a bit more detail on the mechanicals, interior and exterior. Mechanical Viper remote starter is a great upgrade with up to a 1-mile range (max range depends on line-of-sight). Remotes for the remote starter are in rough condition, but still operable. Transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Engine runs smoothly. Suspension feels slightly loose near the front passenger wheel, but feels solid otherwise. New Interstate MTP-65 battery was installed in January 2017. Power steering pump was replaced in February 2017. Brakes feel good - rear rotors, front and rear brake pads, and rear brake lines were replaced in May 2015. ABS light started coming on intermittently this month. Note that this is a 2-wheel-drive Expedition. In 17 years of Chicago winters, I have never regretted the decision to go with 2WD - fewer parts to maintain, and the 2WD model sits a little closer to the ground than the 4WD, which I like. I usually keep a little ice melt in the back during the winter - if the wheels start spinning when you're trying to get out of a snow-filled parking space, put a little ice melt just in front of the rear wheels and you'll be out in no time. I have had to do this twice in 17 years. One issue to be aware of - while my mechanic was replacing the power steering return line in March, he said the vehicle tried to start itself. He traced it to some kind of issue with the headlight switch and believes it is some issue between the headlight switch and the starter. I opted not to have him tear apart the dash to fix the problem. Keeping the headlights in the off position while the car is off seems to be a good work around. I have not experienced the problem he reported (I followed his advice to keep the headlights in the off position when the car isn't running). Tires have a little life left in them, but will need to be replaced soon. Here is the approximate tread depth remaining in each tire: Front left 6/32" - 7/32" Rear left 5/32" - 6/32" Rear right 5/32" - 6/32" Front right 4/32" - 5/32" To see photos of the tires visit: tiny"remove space"url "dot" com "slash" 2000FordExpeditionEbay Note - there is no spare tire. Interior Tan leather seats are in very good condition overall. As you would expect, the worst wear is in the driver's seat, which has a couple tears that you can see in the images. Front passenger seat shows some wear but still shows well. Rear seats are in good shape. Rugs are generally in good shape, though driver rug has worn through in the spot where your typically foot rests. Driver door is missing a small piece of trim (see pics). The digital odometer has a delay when you start the car - for some reason it takes a few minutes for it to come on. Has never been an issue significant enough to investigate. A/C has a slow leak - my mechanic advised against fixing the leak because the system holds a charge for 1-2 years. I have recharged the a/c periodically and have gotten by fine that way. My last two recharges were April 2016 and June 2014. This has been an issue since 2010 and I have recharged the system 5 times. If the charge starts to wear off more quickly, you may need to trace and fix the leak in the system. Heat works well, especially if you let the remote starter run for a few minutes before entering (keep in mind that you're burning gas though!). Exterior There are a few mostly cosmetic flaws on the passenger side (see photos) and the bottom of the rear door. There is a little rusting along the bottom edges of the body, particularly near the running boards. Overall the paint is in good shape. New Bosch premium wiper blades were installed in January 2017. Payment Terms CASH ONLY. Payment must be made in cash. Buyer must be available to meet in the Jewel Osco parking lot at 1340 S Canal St in Chicago during business hours for the exchange. Please do not bid if these terms are not acceptable to you. If you would like to propose an alternate arrangement, please contact me to discuss before placing your bid.
