1962 Ford F-100 Description

This 1962 Ford F-100 takes the best elements of the blue oval and bow tie to create one of the coolest gassers around. So you're looking at a cool unibody truck with a high-performance small block, and it's all at an exceptional price.Ford's brief flirtation with a seamless unibody option on the F-series already makes a pickup like this sought after and hard to find. The unibody just does a great job of featuring the full-length style lines that were stamped directly in the sheetmetal. Ford also added some dramatic flares around the wheel arches, making this one of the best-looking trucks of the early '60s. This one takes this sporty look up a notch with the satin finish on the silver paint and a cool hood strip kit that emphasizes the power bulge in the sheetmetal. It's all of these elements that makes this a great looking base to create a gasser a project that took nearly two years to complete. In fact, this one could almost be a bit stealthy because it already had a taller front end and solid front axle. You just have to not pick up on the ultra wide rear tires of the tailgate that hints at the bow tie power within.Inside, this performance pickup gets down to business immediately. A durable black bench and the exterior silver on the doors and dash are there for style, but from the moment you grab the Grant sports steering wheel, your heart will begin to race. In the middle is a large Bosch tach, ignition panel, and a Hurst T-bar shifter. This is certainly ready to do battle. This motor has been built for both show and go. Within the dark fender walls, the investment in the valve covers, pulleys, alternator, and all the other polished components make this one look like its radiating power from within the engine bay. And backing up this performance appearance is a 383 stroker motor built by Skip White Racing with go-fast goodies like a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor, hi-rise intake, aluminum heads, aluminum radiator w/electric fans, and Hedman headers that feed that huge dual exhaust. The V8 was dynoed at 506 horsepower, and you have complete control over this and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission. Making sure that all this power gets to the ground properly is a stout Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.89 gears. And those wide 325/50R15 Mickey Thompson tires in the rear ensure you have power takeoffs like a good gasser should.Complete with build receipts, build phots, and the dyno sheet that you'll love showing off to your friends, this is a beautifully-built gasser at an exceptionally affordable price.
