1926 Ford Other Hot Rod - T GT Description

A real 1926 Ford Roadster. Titled as a 1926 Ford. Many Vintage Parts on this Roadster. 1929 Ford grill shell, 1941 Ford front axle with front & rear split wishbones, 1951 Ford steering column with removable racing steering wheel, ( see photo ) also with modified shifter linkage for the Corvette 700R4 Overdrive Transmission. Also has a Saginaw 525 Steering Box which is stronger than its Vega brethren. A rare Vintage Moon Tach. with aluminum cup & mount for early style steering column. Early Corvette valve covers adapted to 350 motor with racing vents modified to hide a modern PCV system. Vintage arrow turn signals front & rear. Vintage rear view mirror. Vintage real Cadillac air cleaner modified for modern element.
Chevrolet 350 motor with Edelbrock high rise performer manifold with Edelbrock carburetor. H.E.I. ignition with Accel super coil. Block Hugger headers. Custom aluminum radiator with large electric fan and coolant recovery tank.
All circuit breakers & fuses are behind removable cover under dash. Battery master switch is behind flip forward seat back of custom upholstered seat. Retractable seat belts. Both doors have Bear Claw latches installed. They close tight and never pop open.
Mercury 8.8 differential was rebuilt with all new 4.10 Ring & Pinion, bearings, seals and Positraction unit, this rear end came with disc brakes which work great with the heavier duty disc brakes on the front axle.
I did not want a Pan Hard bar on the front axle. The racers of old would use a bolt through the axle moving in a slot on the chassis to keep the front axle centered with the chassis. I used a similar method but used a heavy duty bracket welded to the frame with a machined slot for a heavy duty bearing bolted to center of axle to move in. More machining and welding but keeps the axle centered better then a cross bar. (see photo) It works great on any type of road at any speed. A added plus is the bracket and bearing is hidden by the custom made stainless front license bracket & air damn to the radiator.
This Hot Rod is a Driver. I have had it on a few road trips, many cruise nights and also running errands on nice days.
I will also include the light duty car cover.
