2000 Ford Ranger OEM Electric Truck
2000 Ford Ranger Electric Description
White body in very good shape. Lead Acid 8V battery version, but will take a 12 V NiMH battery. Does not drive. One of the batteries failed, needs new pack. Lead-acid is not the way to go anyway. Still has original tonneau cover. AVCON charger will be included.AS IS, NO WARRANTY!If I had the time and shop space, I'd drop the pack and do a 12V Li conversion as documented elsewhere.Mechanical/Cosmetic condition is good. Original 8V PbA pack is not currently running. It was running as a daily commuter until it just stopped. This vehicle could be used as parts, but but it would be even better if the batteries were upgraded with NiMH ones. OR it could be put in a museum of electric cars - still one of the first trucks with electric power. This truck could be used either with Lead Acid or NiMH. Or it could be used as a test bed for other ev batteries. I am the second owner; first was Chico State University to my understanding. The car has a white carpool sticker. The vehicle will NOT charge on public charge stations, there is a new J1772 standard out with a round plug but should be able to be upgraded or just used with the included charger.A piece of automotive history. Please educate yourself about this vehicle. The vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. Buyer is expected to arrange shipment within 7 days of close of sale. I can send you a pdf with more info about the vehicle in general but wikipedia has a great site: wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_EV
