1972 Ford Maverick Street Cruiser--302, automatic, 9" rear differential, etc.
1972 Ford Maverick Description
1972 Ford Maverick in very nice condition.
Fresh professionally applied paint job (two-stage) over a straight West Coast body. The paint color is Tangier Orange (GM truck color). Re-chromed bumpers and trim. New NOS gas cap. NOS front and rear valances. One partial quarter panel replaced before repaint. (paint alone was over $5,000)
Grabber rear deck spoiler. Most of the glass is original to the car. All new window seals and felts. I also have an extra set of windshield and rear window seals, as well as the trunk weatherstripping---included with sale.
Black Interior with Grabber model bucket seats with new vinyl. Built in tach mount with AutoMeter tachometer. Gauge set (Autometer) custom mounted in dash (see pictures). Carpet is in good shape. Dyna Mat on floor. At some point in this cars life, the back seat was taken out--I have created carpeted panels to cover that area.
Car is equipped with disc brakes on all four corners. Magnum 500 Ford rally wheeels in great shape. Ford 9" rear differential with 3.25 gears (limited slip). Sub-frame connectors welded in. Cal-Tracs rear suspension set-up with new performance leaf springs. Front sway bar upgraded to larger diameter. Modern shock tower brace and Monte Carlo bar.
Car is powered by a 30 over 302 cubic inch running a lumpy Lunati cam. AFR aluminum heads. Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold topped by a Holley 650cfm double pumper Carburetor. Holley electric fuel pump. Headers and dual exhaust dumping before rear axle. Ignition is Ford Motorcraft with an MSD Blaster coil and StreetFire COI multi spark ignition. Thermostatically controlled electric fan. 3,270 miles on engine build.
Transmission is a Ford C4 running a mild stall converter. Aftermarket transmission cooler. Factory Ford floor shifter. Car runs and drives great. Odometer shows 1927.4 miles; I thinks it is safe to assume that it has rolled over.
Items needing attention: Parking brake mechanism is not in place (I have not gotten around to sourcing one). Small drips from power steering lines.
If you want additional pics of particular areas of the car, please just ask and I will be happy to provide additional views.
