1931 Ford Model A Victoria
1931 Ford Model A Victoria Description
Car was restored 15-20 years ago but has not been well cared for recently. The elderly owner was in decline for some time and unable to properly maintain the car. After his death the car was driven occasionally but ultimately left in the weather. The interior got wet and something left on the back seat caused the fabric to rot in one spot (see photo). I bought it from the family to prevent it from just rotting away as I had known the owner and he had been so proud of his "pretty car". I put a very good set of used tires on it, a remanufactured Tillotson carb, got it going and now maybe someone will take it to the next level..I'm a Model T guy, not really to interested in the A.
It has a good engine that starts right up, runs well, doesn't overheat and has an alternator as well as an oil filter. The transmission is a Chevy S10 5 speed which shifts smoothly. Brakes seem fine. As with any car this age I would strongly recommend a thorough inspection before putting it on the road. The lights, turning signals and horn do not work. I suspect the switch. The speedometer cable is broken. There is rust in the raised bead section of the cowl on both sides and some rust forming under the vinyl top.
In all, I think with minimal expense this could be a reliable weekend, local function car .
The 31 Louisiana plates are not included if the car is sold out of state. I require a $500.00 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of the auction end and the balance in cash, certified funds or pay pal within 7 days. Will not ship outside lower 48 and low or neg feedback people don't bid without personal contact or bid will be rejected.
The correct Victoria front seats are included. I can hold the car in closed storage up to 30 days and can help loading. Thanks for your interest
