1940 Ford Other Description

1940 FORD TWO DOOR SEDAN3 OWNER CAR SINCE NEW ALL LOCAL TO WHERE I LIVE IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA!V8 ENGINE54,008 MILESTOTALLY UNMOLESTED!ORIGINAL CAR!
This car was sold new to Mr. J.D. Clodfelter in Tro, North Carolina in 1940. He purchased it from the local Ford dealer here in Montgomery County, North Carolina. An 87 year old employee of my father's, remembers going to see Mr. Clodfelter's new car when when he was a young man just after he bought it! It has had 2 owners since then and all were here in Montgomery County. This is a totally unmolested original car. My father purchased the car several years ago and drove it to where it has been sitting in an insulated airplane hangar at the local airport. I got the car out from the rear of the hangar and washed the dust off. It currently does not run but would probably take very little to make it run. My father was the mechanic and he is now almost 90 years old with a not so good mind anymore. I'm not a mechanic or I would make it run so I could get the full value for this car. I'm sure that it needs very little attention to put it on the road for enjoyment! The seats have a cover on them which is torn up due to age and use in the front. The seats which appear to be original mohair are in fair condition under those plaid covers. The headliner looks pretty good as well. If you are looking for an original 1940 Ford Sedan, I don't think that you will find a better one to restore or drive as is. It seems that most of these cars have been turned into hot rods. Once that happens theoriginalityis gone forever. Don't let this one get away! You are welcomed and encouraged to come and look the car over before bidding.

*I had a request for me to remove the wooden boards in the trunk to look for rust. I was surprised to find the original tool bag and tools! They actually have Ford written on the tools! The covering over the wood and the wood itself is somewhat dilapidateddue to age. I didn't really see any rust.* (SEE PICTURES JUST ADDED)
