I am selling this beautiful Mustang because I have too many cars and not enough time to use them. It looks great in silver and it looks even better in person. The paint is glossy and deep.No dents or dings or stone chips (except there are two stone chips on each of the doors that were touched up).The car was restored by a previous owner, probably around 10-15 years ago.The body has no rust except for some surface rust underneath. The body/frame is solid.Interior is in good condition, no rips in the seats, etc.New front suspension.New power steering.New brake master cylinder.
If you know your Mustangs, you know a 1968 comes with a 289/302. I don't know the previous history of the car, but it is obvious it had a 351W transplanted into it. It really is a tasteful upgrade with the Edelbrock intake, 4-barrel Holley, and performance headers. It has full mufflers so it isn't obnoxiously loud, but you definitely hear the V8 when you open the throttle. If you look at a 2-barrel 289/302 it is listed at 200hb/290ft-lb. The 351 4-barrel in this car should be good for 300hp and 400ft-lb. So that is your decision if you pass up this car and buy one with 100 less hp.
Since I purchased the car a few years ago, I have completely replaced the front suspension. Scott Drake upper and lower control arms, new shocks, etc. New power steering control valve and slave, new hoses, and tie rods. I have added the Pertronix distributor. This is a really nice upgrade, no more worrying about setting the points, dwell, etc. It is a modern electronic ignition system. New MSD Streetfire ignition cables.
There are a couple things that would be on my to-do list that I just never got around to. It leaks transmission oil around the kickdown lever on the trans. So this should be easy to fix, I would think you could pull it off the side and replace an o-ring. It is not the axle seal, that would be harder. In addition, the kickdown cable is not correctly connected to the the throttle. So the cable needs to be replaced. The drivers side rear window winder doesn't work. There is a slight clunk in the rear area when you go over a bump. I don't know what it is, everything looks tight. Just recently there is a very small squeak in the front suspension when going over bumps. Probably just some grease got washed away. Some of the body panels don't line up as well as I think they should, the front fenders and hood should be adjusted. The fenders and hood just bolt on and it should just be a matter of taking some time to rearrange them. But they really weren't that straight new from the factory anyway. And lastly the reverse lights are not connected. They weren't when I got it and I never got into connecting them. All these are pretty minor and just require a little time to sort them out. No major parts cost or labor cost.
Bottom line is that it is a very nice car that you will be happy with. You can drive it and have fun with it and it shouldn't need much work/parts to keep it running, most all of it has already been sorted.
