Supercharged 5 Liter Stroker!!!
2007 Ford Mustang Roush Stage 2 Description
I am reluctantly listing this car for auction. It has been a member of the family for a while now and has a lot of personal history to it. Current circumstances make this the most logical move so here it is for the right person to jump on.
This is a 2007 Roush Stage 2 Mustang, what this means is that from the factory it has the Roush cosmetic and suspension upgrades installed, and original drive train from a Mustang GT running the car down the road.
The previous owner was a good family friend that passed from cancer. When he found out the news he immediately went out and bought this car. It was sitting in a lot for sale and when he drove by it caught his attention and was something he had to have. A day later he owned it and immediately took it to a speedshop and started upgrades on the engine. This included a host of things, one of which was the addition of a twin screw water cooled whipple supercharger. This is the one with it's own electric water pump and secondary radiator to keep air temps nice and cool. The car became a rocket ship almost immediately and he enjoyed it for all the days he was able. The car is from North Carolina, and at an event there he spoke to Jack Roush. Jack heard his story, asked to see the car, sat in the passenger seat and signed the dash for Dan as I'm told.
We purchased the car and ran it for a summer before putting it in storage for the winter. I'm not one to leave things alone and in keeping with Dan's spirit I pulled the engine out and replaced it with an iron block 5 liter stroker short block custom built by D.S.S racing out of Chicago. This build included a forged crank, H beam rods, forged pistons, ARP fasteners, and a host of other upgrades for the build to be done right.
I retained the OEM heads, and had all of the valves done to match the lower end. The supercharger was sent directly to whipple for R&R while it was apart, and once all was received back the car was reassembled by me personally. Inclusive to this was an 8 bolt flywheel to handle the added horsepower and a dual disk McLeod street racing clutch. This used the hydraulic OEM slave cylinder and works flawless at harnessing the gobs of horsepower this machine puts to the ground. D.S.S warrantied this lower end to 1000HP. Exhaust is from Roush as well, with the headers being from American Racing.
One built we had programming done by Alternative Automotive Performance through a an SCT programmer and a days worth of Dyno Tuning. The car is amazing to drive and is reliable as the right build is supposed to be. We have taken it on several road trips back to North Carolina since it was built and run it around town to some degree almost daily. It's the best of both worlds, streetable cruiser by day and race machine by night if you so choose.
Mileage is at 47000, and that will go up slightly through the course of the auction since we are still driving the car on nice summer days.
The exterior is in great condition with some minor blemishes as is to be expects from a car with a few miles on it. We have around 8000 miles on the motor build, and have not had to do any chassis work at all. I'm not certain of mileage on the suspension or brakes since I have no documentation on it, however all are in good order and the car handles flawlessly so all should have plenty of life left in them.
Interior is in great condition with carpets and seats meticulously cared for. I am not sure the rear seats have even been sat in. If so it was very little. Air conditioning works as does the heat and all accessory items. This has the shaker stereo system in it, and some tint on the windows as well.
We have cared for this car well as the previous owners did and it shows in it's current state. All the tools in the Roush tool kit are accounted for, the gloves are untouched, and the secondary floor mats that were part of the original purchase are still in the trunk in the original packaging.
I own a trucking company, and will work with the buyer on personally delivering the vehicle. If you purchase it with the buy it now option I will deliver free of charge to any of the continental US States. Caveat to this is working with me on times to coordinate the logistics.
I feel like there is a ton I am missing here, so contact me with any questions or if you are local to the South Eastern Michigan, to come look at it in person and take it all in. Pictures simply don't do the car justice, and until your inside getting thrown back in the seat as it accelerates cannot begin to understand what a exquisite vehicle this really is.
Note that you can go to the Roush database on their website and verify the validity of it being a documented stage 2 car by inputing the VIN number. I urge all bidders to do so.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
