1953 Ford Country Squire Woodie Wagon
1953 Ford Crestline Woodie Wagon Description
Regretfully passing on the stewardship of this most classic of cars. Against my strongest instincts. 1953 is the last year of the flathead V8, this one is numbers matching, and very few miles on the motor since being rebuilt at the machine shop. It's also the last year Ford used actual wood on the body. The wood on this car has been replaced with maple and looks absolutely stunning. A few of the original wood pieces that were in good condition were used as well. Ford built only 11,000 copies of this car, and there aren't very many left on the road today. This particular car has been in a collection on the mainland for decades, and was purchased by a gentleman who re-restored the car and brought it to Hawai'i approximately 7 years ago. I have no reason to believe the odometer is not accurate. I purchased the car and have made a few sensible mechanical upgrades since. Although not Concours, the car is super clean, free of rust, and as original as need be.
Zero rust on the car, all body panels are solid.
The wood is so nice and if properly taken care of, should last another 50 years.
Most of the trim and bumpers and interior parts are original, but new parts where needed.
Numbers matching flathead 8ba V8 and 3 speed column shift transmission, both with only a few gentle miles on them.
Front brakes upgraded to disc, with dual circuit master cylinder and power booster. Stops great!
Brand new radial white wall tires
12V conversion
No, there's no A/C! So many windows, don't even need!
It's not an automatic and there's no power steering. But it doesn't need either. Super easy to drive. And so much fun. I literally dress up when I drive this girl.
There are a few small scratches here and there on the car, and the chrome is peeling in a couple locations on the rear bumper. The fuel gauge only works when it feels like it, so I just take note of the mileage. Thanks for looking.
