1949 Ford Shoebox custom Description

Back up for sale is this 1949 Ford Custom due to time waster's, so only contact me if you are serious. Substantially reduced for a quick sale due to change in personal circumstances. It was customized in the mid-fifties with a roof chop, side skirts and lowered. We have faithfully restored it to a period-correct mid-fifties level with no “modernization”. We kept the paint scheme from the original build but changed the baby blue to a purple-blue. We have added other period-correct custom touches such as the front panel from a 1950 Mercury, a floating grille-bar from a 1952 Dodge Coronet, front and rear bumpers from a 1948 Plymouth, “nosed and decked” – removing the emblems and trim from the hood and trunk, frenching the front and rear lights, radiusing the corners of the hood, trunk and doors, relocating the gas filler cap to inside the trunk, steering wheel from a 1950 Ford and a full “Tijuana Tuck and Roll” custom interior. The engine, transmission and suspension are stock other than conversion to 12 volt systems but have been completely restored. Engine swaps and suspension changes (other than lowering) were not common until the late 50’s when the more powerful V8’s from Chevy, Cadillac and Oldsmobile became more readily available. That’s why we kept the running gear original! Why have just another Mercury when you can have a true custom from back in the day!
The car is located in Southern California but I can ship worldwide. Will consider interesting trades but they must include cash too.
