1964 Ford Mustang Description
Original Southern California car with low serial number (~#34,000, built in April of 1964). Orignal numbers-matching 260 V8 with less than 5,000 miles on rebuild. Painted with correct color scheme for 1964 (Black block with Ford Engine Blue valve covers, oil pan, and air cleaner). Engine is bored .030 over with a mild build, including gear drive, Isky camshaft (Has a slight lope at idle but not extreme), Edelbrock 4 barrel intake and carburetor. Heads were fully rebuilt with new valves, stainless exhaust valves, bronze valve guides, and hardened valve seats with a 3 angle valve grind. Car will come with original two barrel carburetor, manifold, and air cleaner (Aftermarket chrome air cleaner is installed). Car is equipped with three-speed C4 automatic transmission (Cruse-O-Matic) with a fresh rebuild (Less than 5,000 miles) and new brakes on all 4 corners. Car is equipped with reproduction GT wheels.
Interior has been gone through with new carpet, seat covers, door cards, and headliner. Carpet is faded but not worn or torn. No rips, tears, or wear in the seats, headliner, or door cars. Car has original working AM radio, and the hard-to-find factory air conditioning, which is complete and hooked up but is not charged. System is original R12 system but could be easily converted to R134a, which is cheaper and easier to obtain than R12. Some of the interior chrome trim on the dash, and the paint on the glove box door shows some wear, but is original.
Car was repainted in the original Wimbledon White in 2001, and was recently touched up and refreshed last year (Both quarter panels, trunk lid, and the hood and front end were repainted to repair some chips in the paint)
Buyer is responsible for arranging shipment of the vehicle upon purchase. Will entertain delivering vehicle within 300 miles for additional $500, depending on distance.
