1952 Ford F3 R32 Marmon-Herrington 4x4 F100 F250 F1 F2 western high desert truck
1952 Ford Other Pickups Description
For sale at NO reserve: Ultra rare 1952 Ford F3 Marmon-Herrington 4x4 for parts or restoration. There were only a couple hundred of these made. This is the more desirable R32-4 two speed transfer case model. Has some of the usual rust, but less than the east coast or midwest trucks. If you're looking for something different to restore for Barrett Jackson, this would really stand out in a sea of Power Wagons and Napcos. The truck has significant parts value, but also has matching numbers on Marmon-Herrington tag, Ford tag, and title if you want to restore it. I'm no expert on these trucks, so if the cognoscenti out there have thoughts to share, please message me. Here's a link to a similar truck so you can get an idea of what it would look like restored: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojc5AfrgKTM
Exterior: Rough condition as shown, but restorable. The high desert of Montana is arid country, and we typically don't see much rust here. This truck has rust in the box from hay and debris that was left in the box gathering moisture. Cab, doors, and floors look fine. Fenders and running boards have some rust from mud holding moisture there. We don't see frame rust here out west, and this frame looks good. Lots of dents and dings, some bondo showing in back of cab by rear window. Glass will need attention, front and window cracked, driver side window and passenger vent window gone but I found a good driver side glass locally and that will be included. I'll look for vent window, confident I can find one. As expected, wood planks in box will need to be replaced. Missing one M-H hood badge on driver side. Hood is just bolted on with a couple of bolts. This truck is a major project.
Interior: See pics, needs restoration. Seat looks original, as do door panels. Some missing bits but there is a bucket of interior stuff included. Will need wiring harness. Steering column isn't original, but what looks to be the original included in the parts in the back of the truck.
Mechanical: The good news is that the rare bits like front and rear end, sway bar, transfer case, 17" wheels and rear adapters, etc are there. No engine. Previous owner started to install a 331 Chrysler Hemi, but never finished it. Engine cross member has been modified, but trans cross member looks original. Trans is just resting there. Parts in back include gas tank, steering column, what appears to be front driveshaft, radiator, tire carrier, and a bunch of small bits. I'm not sure what is original and what isn't, so if you know. feel free to chime in!
Pricing/Misc: These trucks in any condition are hard to find and expensive. They are unique and you won't see another one at Cars N' Coffee.
It's going to be a big project to restore this truck, but the end result would be worth it!
