1986 Ford Country Squire LX Station Wagon Runs Great
1986 Ford Country Squire LX Description
Up for bids is my 1986 Ford Country Squire LX Station Wagon. I bought this car a few months ago as a project to return to the road but after acknowledging my list is longer to complete than free time I have for the rest of my life, I have decided to part ways with it. I bought the car from a fellow college classmate of mine whom she drove it all 4 years in college.
This car was originally a NC car that was used by a family for the first part of its life as a vacationing vehicle only used in the summers. In that time it was used to tow a camper as well. The second family owners bought it in 2005 and it was driven daily until last year. Unfortunately it was driven in the winters in Boone NC since 05 and as a result, it has rust in the quarters, some in the doors and also in the front fenders. The rockers, floor pans, hood, roof, pillars, and tailgate are all solid.
This car is pretty well loaded. It came factory with the following
Power front disc brakesPower SteeringVent Wing door windowsPower Windows including tailgate (tailgate window motor doesnt work but new one included)Power antenna (broken off)Power mirrors
Power LocksPower Driver SeatCornering LampsTripminder w/ClockVentshades over the door windowsAftermarket Towing Package with KH trailer brake systemAutomatic Climate Control (AC needs charge)Third row dual facing seatsAutomatic headlightsCruise ControlPremium Stereo with Cassette DeckRoof rack
The alloy wheels are in good condition, as well as are the seats, they have no tears but some fading. The power windows are inconsistent and will need attention. It will need new vinyl woodgrain available from JC Whitney. The dash pad is in decent condition with a few splits.
To be put back on the road it will need the exhaust repaired. It currently has a leak that is noticable. It needs a new battery. It has a nice set of tires on it with plenty of tread left. The engine and transmission run and drive strong with no hesitation on the roadways, and shift as it is supposed to. The gas tank leaks when it is over half full which will need repair. I would also do a brake job although the current system is in working order.
The car was last on the road in NC last year, 2016. It has a clear NC title.Car will need to be trailered to its new home. Full payment is to be received within 10 days of auction end and car needs to be taken home within 14 days.
Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask! I will also be listing a 1989 Country Squire LX and a 1989 Mercury Colony Park parts car. Both cars are fully loaded.
