2001 Ford Focus SE Description

This is a sporty looking 2001 Ford Focus SE Wagon with low miles, very reliable, gets excellent fuel economy and runs perfect. Ice cold AC and heat work. It has excellent responsive handling on the road with a zippy responsive engine. The 2.0 Liter Zetec engine is known for non-valve interference so if the timing belt breaks the engine is not at risk.
This wagon was recently owned by a mechanic who did detailed upgrade and preventive maintenance with high quality components to make it run perfect with the intention of keeping it for many years. It's being sold due to the family needing a bigger car.
The recent repairs are:
Newer tires with 4 wheel alignment; Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring - rated for 55,000 miles (35,000 miles left)New alternator with lifetime warrantyNew serpentine beltNew motor mounts for quiet operationNew preventive maintenance timing belt and water pumpNew spark plugs and wiresNew ignition with new spare keyNew radiator overflow tankNew front and rear window wipers and LED license plate bulbs
There are a few Ford factory defects with this model, all of which have been addressed but one, a glitch in the cooling fan which requires the AC fan switch to be on at all times in order for the radiator cooling fan to run. So if you buy this car, you must have the AC switch on at all times, however, you can adjust the setting to low or high at any temperature so it isn't much of an issue. The main issue is remembering to keep it on at all times. This is a Ford factory issue which Ford never corrected. The other issue is a power lock on the front passenger door does not work but it does lock with the key from the outside or with the button from the inside. Also, it will need a new radio as the old one has just stopped working.
The exterior has some regular wear and tear for a 16 year old car. Drivers door has a few dings and the paint on the roof cargo rack is peeling in some areas but the overall finish of the wagon is good. The interior is also in good shape.
The wagon is also listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early for a local buyer.
