1989 Ford Mustang LX, Drag Race Car, NO RESERVE! Roller, Roll Cage, NOTCHBACK
1988 Ford Mustang LX Description
This is my 1989 Ford Mustang LX roller. I bought this car from the guy who built it from the ground up. Started as a red 4 cylinder. He slowly built it to what he wanted. A weekend racer he could have fun with. He wanted to be able to trailer it out to the track and be fairly unassuming. He gutted it entirely and only re-installed what was necessary. All guts behind the dash are gone. The tach now sits behind a custom dash. All underlayment was taken out but the carpet only put back in. He wanted this thing to be as LIGHT as possible while looking original. The roll cage is installed, as you can see. Everything under the car and under the hood was treated the same way. You can see the rear end is set up for some serious racing.
The car came to me with a fully built and angry 351 Cleveland. The car ran as low as 10.14 in the quarter on 110 race fuel, engine only. I've got videos of it that are fun to go back and watch! Fuel cell in the rear. Battery in the rear. Battery on/off switch hidden in the original fuel door. The car is solid and rust free. Has switches in the center console for fan, water pump, line lock. Trans brake on this car, as well.
I bought this car ONLY to go out to test and tune nights to try to have a little fun, get a thrill and bring it back home. Just to learn the sport. After a few runs, the engine blew. So, we pulled the engine and haven't done anything since. That was a couple of years ago. This car doesn't belong to sit. I know it's one of the hottest cars to run on the track and deserves to be with someone to race it. I literally don't have any time to put towards the car.
Car includes the long tube headers which you can see are in the passenger side of the car. I'm also including a set of Hedman 5.0 headers, as well. I've got an extra 351 Cleveland block, heads and everything else that came on the engine that wasn't damaged (oil pan, crank, pistons and rods were demolished). Fuel pump, water pump, carb, valve covers, and Holley Strip Dominator aluminum intake and flywheel. Literally everything you need to put the car back together. Of course, you can take it whichever way you would like. The trans is still in the car. Worked when engine blew. If it were me, I'd lightly sand it, shoot another coat of black on it and go and have fun. V
I'm not a big racer so hopefully I can help with any questions and/or the pictures will help. Oddly enough, I also acquired a 1966 Fairlane 500 GT S-Code race car. It's in primer but is now loaded with a running authentic 427 center oil engine. Need both gone. Let me know if you are interested in that car, separately. This auction is for the Mustang ONLY.
I'm selling this car with NO RESERVE. That's right. NO RESERVE. It will sell to the highest bidder. Car does NOT come with a title. I repeat, it does NOT come with a title and should be purchased with the intention of it only every being a strip car. No warranty expressed or implied. MILEAGE LISTED IS NOT CORRECT. Ebay requires you to list a mileage but car has no title and dash has been gutted to be a track car only. Please do not take listed mileage as actual and fact. $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance due within 7 days. If car is sold and payment is clear, I don't mind hanging on to the car for a few extra days until you can come get it or get it picked up. SOLD AS-IS. Shipping and delivery is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I'm very flexible and am more than happy to help out in any way that I can.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!
