1964 Ford F-250 long bed. 95% original including paint. Daily driver!
1964 Ford F-250 Description
This 1964 Ford F-250 is a super rare find it is 98% original. It has all the benefits of a barn find without all the problems that come with a car sitting. This truck has been in the California Ventura county all its life and I am only the third owner! Starting with the exterior, it is still sporting its original Wimbledon white paint it received from the factory all the way around with not one spot on it every being body worked. That being said it cleans up well, but after 52 years it has numerous spots where surface rust has came thru as seen in pics and it has dents expected to be on a 52 year old pickup. The only huge dent is the damage to the passenger fender. It has some damage to the doors but that would be easily repaired. The rest of the body has just the typical door dings. It has rust in the bed floor which will likely need to be replaced. That being said as can be seen in the pics the frame is still solid. It also has a little rust above the passenger door, which is also seen in pics. This truck is great because there is no hidden surprises which is what you usually get with a vehicle that has been repainted or primered. The interior is all original except the bench seat which was completely rebuilt with new springs, foam and 2 different vinyls to replicate what it came with from the factory. It still has the original rubber floor which has multiple areas where it has been worn thru. Those areas you can see that the floor has no rust. All the gauges work except the aftermarket voltmeter that was installed in the late 1960's. This includes the fact that the fuel, temp, oil, speedo and alert lights work. All the lights work on the truck including turn and headlights. All accessories work including am radio, heater, air vent knobs on dash, and the blower motor. Moving to the drive train, the engine appears to be all original including the air cleaner, carb and the crossover exhaust manifold that the 292 v8s were known for. The engine purrs and is the quitest v8 I have ever heard running. It does seep a little oil from the oil pan gasket, but besides that it has no other leaks on the engine, the transmission is a t98 granny 4 speed installed by a ford dealership at the request of the original owner in 1965. It leaks a little from the side cover as can be seen in the pic, but it shifts great! The rear end is a full floating factory Dana unit that has been completely gone thru with new seals and inspected for wear. It sports 4:11 gears from the factory and doesn't leak a drip! It also has new brakes, wheel cylinders and all! The front end has new brakes complete as well. The truck has new shocks all the way around! The steering is good except for one of the linkage ends is a little loose and could use replaced but the truck still drive straight as an arrow! It currently has 16" rims on it with tires that have great tread but show signs of age and I would recommend changing before driving cross country. Included in the sale is the original split rims that came with the truck. Well I believe that about sums everything up if you need more info, want to come see it or person or get video of it running and driving, text me 2095815559. I do cash or cashier check in person as payment for the truck only. Shipping is on the buyer! I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Truck is currently registered till may 2017 and has California historical plates.
