Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a truly unique and one-of-a-kind 1979 Ford Mustang Daytona. This removable glass top Mustang Daytona is really a once in a lifetime vehicle. Originally as a part of a 5 car production, this car is the only one believed to be drivable and also the only to receive all optional equipment. One of the five 1979 Mustang Daytona's was confirmed destroyed this was the planned fate for particular Mustang but luckily, it was spared. The Daytona concept was a then-new Fox Body based Mustang that was shown at major auto shows in 1979 and also served as a pace car at some road events at Daytona. The dramatic Red-Orange exterior is a perfect color to show off the striking front end which is reminiscent of the Ferrari 356 GTB/4 with its smoked acrylic front end. The inside of this Daytona Mustang is dressed in very sharp, perforated tan leather upholstery including a perforated tan leather headliner with front and rear visors. The full length console is also dressed in smoked acrylic and separates the front and rear seats. Under the hood of this rare pony is a 302CID 5.0 Liter V8 which is paired to a 4-Speed manual transmission with overdrive. This Mustang Daytona rests on a set of Tru-spoke 15" wheels just as it did when it was being displayed in various auto shows in Detroit and Chicago. This Mustang is a rare survivor and you can almost guarantee that you will never find another one like this one.
