2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SL Description

GMC 1500 regular cab long bed truck with FLX Industries aluminum van body. The aluminum van body is 9' long, w/32" aerodynamic cabover, 74"interior width, 72" interior height. The van body is made in Pikeville Tennessee and costs about $ 5,000 new. With a little work the van body on my truck could be like new. I have owned this truck for16 years and it is very dependable. It has the Vortec 4.8 litre engine. The check engine light is on and there is a slight miss but the engine starts every time and is quiet. I no longer need the truck so I am only asking $ 1,999.
There isa miss in the engine. One mechanic said it was a valve in the #7cylinder and a GMC mechanic said it was the fuel pump. That was about 2 years ago when they said this and we are still driving the truck about 50 miles in town each week and it does fine. There is rust under the cab of the truck and on the floor joist of the aluminum box.
The driver's seat is well worn but functional. As far as I know the suspension is fine. There is a rubber on rubber noise when turning the steering wheel. I think the A/C works. The tires are decent and one of them is new. It has a newer battery, alternator, rear axles, front and rear brakes and rack and pinion steering. The transmission and rear differential has been rebuilt. I'm selling the truck AS-IS and you're welcome to have a mechanic check it out.
