2003 Honda Element 4 DOOR SUV Description

I am selling my 2003 Honda Element. This is one terrific car but I have too many cars so I'm thinning the herd. Please read the entire listing and look at all the pictures as they are part of the description.
For those of you who are Element lovers, the following info will just verify what you already know. For those new to Element, this is why they are so popular and so hard to find, especially in this mileage range. At less than 127,000 miles, this Element has averaged just over 9,000 miles driven per year. I have a Carfax available by request that will show no accidents or issues of any kind and a suggested retail value of $6,390.
What folks really love about the Element is this little vehicle has an amazing amount of cargo space when the back seats are removed (which come out amazingly easy). It will carry more than most midsize SUV's because of it's shape, in particular, the high roof line. I have loaded dressers, couches, a water softener and even a washing machine upright in this Element. Because of that high roof and the fact it sits low to the ground, loading cargo is a dream. I have seen postings on the internet about people traveling and sleeping in the back of their elements on small air mattresses. The seats are actually designed to fold flat and touch, front to rear, so you could lay across them if you wish. I've included pictures of the Element with the seats in, seats in but folded flat, back seats in but hooked to the sides and with the back seats removed. I just had it completely serviced to the tune of almost $500, including a new emissions sensor that had caused the check engine light to come onintermittently. This vehicle runs like a champ and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. However, it is 14 years old and as with any used vehicle, it shows its age. Here is every issue I know of with this vehicle as well as the non factory equipment it has.
The Element's unique shape makes it great for cargo but it doesn't make it the most aerodynamic vehicle on the road. Add to that the 4 unique interlocking doors that you have to make sure are closed tight and when you get up to high speed on the highway, you're going to have some road noise. The wind tends to hit it like a kite and when I get up to 65 or 70, it gets a little louder than your average vehicle. Never an issue with me, but full disclosure. Also, that means that water/rain tends to run off in certain spots instead of spread out over the car. This is why the front nose is faded more than the rest of the plastic bumpers on the vehicle. The front grill was custom ordered by the previous owner. It is an aftermarket grill that does not have the Honda logo. I didn't even notice until I washed it for the first time. Some might like the old one with the logo better. Didn't matter much to me. Everything you see that is gray on the exterior of the vehicle is hard plastic which makes it very durable but cosmetically not the best with age. It does show scuffs and has a small crack by the passenger rear which is visible in the photos. The windows were tinted by the previous owner and it is starting to ripple slightly. Also, the previous owner installed a nice Sony stereo and a dvd player with fold down screen in the roof. The DVD player that went under the seat did not work and I didn't have a use for it. You can either buy a new one and hook it up or remove the screen an put back the dome light, which is in the glove box.
This is a great car and I'm going to miss it, especially the next time I need to haul something, but it needs to go. I can help you arrange shipping or you can come pick it up. Upon auction close, a $500 deposit will be required via PayPal. The balance can be paid within 5 days either in cash or if you want to use PayPal and use your credit card for remainder, that's fine with me. You will be responsible for paying my additional PayPal fees, 2.9%. US bidders only and remember that this is a business transaction. Your bid is a contract and you're expected to pay. Please consider carefully before bidding. Good luck and contact me with any questions.
