1998 Honda Prelude Collectible Base Model Description

This car has the powerful 2.2 VTEC engine and the original 5 speed transmission which shifts very good. The motor oil and filter were just changed and the engine is very clean inside. I have been in the Honda repair business for many years and the under hood and suspension on this car could pass for a 100,000 car if you didn't look at the odometer. I bought this car with the intention of using it as a daily driver but the sale of my other car fell thru so here is your chance to get a Prelude which was just freshened up.
The lowering kit includes the high dollar Eibach springs and has upgraded front sway bar with poly bushings to improve the handling even further.
Very light Liquidmetal Motorsports 17x8 wheels and 215/40R17 tires. The front tires are brand new, the rear tires are at about 80% tread life and balanced well with very little weights. These wheels turn very true with no notable flat spots. (I see many wheels get bashed with low profile tires.) I have installed a new set of tuner lugs so they are rust free.
I have replaced all the front ball joints and have replaced the outer tie rod ends also.
All the brake rotors and brake pads are brand new. The trans/differential fluid has just been replaced also.
The car came from Washington state and is virtually rust free. I have applied a coating of translucent rust preventative spray to the complete under-body.
The car has some small parking lot boo boos and some chips in paint (mostly around the doors) which I have touched up with professional automotive paint. They still need a few coats of pearl and some clear added but the car shows very well at 10-20 feet away. The paint is not original but when it was painted the guy did a really good job of spraying it. There is no paint fading at all. Prior owner was rough on the door edges (and/or thieves have chipped it some). I have purchased a pint of the base coat, a pint of the pearl and have all the proper hardeners and reducers to finish all the touch-ups. These supplies were nearly $200 at my wholesale price. If you wish, there is enough paint here to respray the rear bumper which has some spider cracks due to one of those bumps.
