1960 Jaguar XK Description

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this gorgeous 1960 Jaguar XK150SE 3.8 Drop Head Coupe finished in an elegant and combination of Old English White over Black leather with a brand new Tan canvas convertible top and matching boot. XK150 DHC number S838709 left the production Browns Lane production line on February 19, 1960 and dispatched to the USA on March 5, 1960. The car was distributed through Jaguar Cars, New York and was sold new to its first owner on November 17, 1960 in New York. From the history and paperwork that comes with the car, it appears it has been with four sympathetic owners since new and comes with excellent records and receipts’ dating back to new and still retains its original matching numbers 3.8 liter straight six engine. The car had undergone extensive restoration work with excellent documentation and pictures. The car was put in storage through the 80’s and the 90’s and the frame off restoration began on the car in 2003. The body was stripped and painted, the chrome was re-plated, new brake system, completely new wiring, new interior, new top, tanks removed and re-sealed, all new hoses, belts, seals and gaskets, carbs re-built, all new cooling system, new clutch, new steering components, top half engine rebuild and so forth. Other than a few tiny stone chips on the front nose of the car and couple tiny imperfections from use over the past 12 years, the paint and body are in excellent condition. The interior shows very well with light patina to the leather interior. All of the electronics, gauges, lights, horn and electronic over drive are all functioning correctly (the speedo does jump a little at speed). The engine starts right up at the push of a button and runs smoothly and freely. The engine pulls very strong through all of its RPM range and has excellent smooth power. The gearbox shits well and the clutch feels excellent without any slipping. The brakes feel good and have just had new calipers and rotors placed on the front. The suspension and steering are excellent and tight and free from any noises or issues. The undercarriage is beautiful, the car has been fully blasted rust protected when the frame off restoration was done. Pics are attached of the undercarriage. The car has no rust anywhere and does not appear to have ever been involved in any kind of accident or had any type of damage. Accompanied with the car is the Jaguar Heritage certificate indicating a matching numbers 3.8 liter engine, the original spare tire with matching wire wheel, the knock off hammer, the jack, the jack handle, the oil gun, documentation dating the history of the car back to new, hundreds and hundreds of receipts, picture documentation of the restoration, a copy of the owners handbook, a new convertible top and new convertible boot. This is a fantastic running and driving XK150 SE 3.8 Drop Head Coupe that shows beautifully and is accompanied with excellent history and provenance.
