1984 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8
1984 Jeep CJ SL Description
I am selling my 1984 Jeep Scrambler CJ8. I have owned this jeep for over 15 years. It has been a few years since the jeep was on the road and it will need to be hauled home for safety. The jeep has always been in the south and is rust free.
The jeep was an SL model with factory 5 speed and Laredo interior. I have the original window sticker somewhere that lists all of the options.
The Jeep was bobbed back in 2003. I had the tailgate welded up and smoothed over.
The jeep has Tuffy console and speaker boxes. Corbeau seats and mounts were added. I have a kayline halfcab top to go with the jeep.
At 69k miles, I blew the original motor. I installed a reman 4.2 that was bored .030 over. MSD distributor and box runs the jeep now. I added an Offy 4bbl intake and Dynomax header. The jeep is currently setup with a Gotpropane.com propane kit. The motor loves the propane. You can switch back to gasoline by installing a mechanical fuel pump and carb. The tank and lines are still there. I replaced the mechanical fan with a Flex a Lite dual electric fan.
The dash uses all AutoMeter guages.
The dana 300 is twin sticked and has CV outputs.
The front axle is a Dana 44 from a full sized wagoneer. It has flat top knuckles, 4.56 gears and a track lock. The axle was converted to 5x5.5 with TTB Ford parts.
The rear axle is a 31 spline Ford 9 Inch with disk brakes, 4.56 gears, and a detroit locker.
The jeep is lifted with Rubicon Express 1" SOA wrangler springs with Bilstein shocks. The front axle is hung under a Blue Torch Fab full width kit.
The tires are 37 inch BFG Baja military tires.
The brakes will need to be bled. The detroit doesnt grab while turning left. The alternator squeals under a load and I removed the belt.
