1963 Jeep CJ Description

Hello. I have an original 1963 Willys Tuxedo Park Mark III Jeep for sale. It has original paint called Indian Ceramic. What a cool name for a paint color. The seats have been recovered and are in good condition. It has recent new rear springs, rebuilt original fuel pump and carb, new water pum, brakes and master cylinder, complete exhaust system, vacuum windshield wipers, restored and repainted original color steering wheel.and Best top bikini top. In the pictures notice there is rust around the body mount by the tail lights. This would be an easy fix to correct a bad design that would invite rust. The rest of the Jeep has no rust. Floor boards, tool box, frame are ingreat shape. I removed the Warn lockout hubs and cleaned and lubedthem as they were dry and couldn't engage them. It has a new right front fender that is not correct, however I have the right one and will go with the sale. I replaced the fuel and temp gauge with new ones, however I think I have them hooked up wrong for the reason they don't work. As the jeep sat for many years of non use it smokes a little from the number two cylinder. I had the head off there is no ridge in the cylinder wall, but I think it has a stuck ring. The more I drive it the less it smokes. See the picture of the wife and I in the mountains North of Phoenix having a little picnic. We drove 25 miles on mountain trails. Notice the picture of the burn out in downtown Phoenix during Cruise Central last month. We cruised up and down Centralin the Jeep with the windshield down. How much fun was that? Lots!!!

A Tuxedo Park Jeep is very rare. I don't know the production numbers but I have only seen one other. The Tuxedo Park model wasintended to appeal to city folks so Willys added chrome bumpers, hub caps, chrome hinges, chromeend gate chains, tail lights, and grab handle. Speedometer works and shows 50550 actual miles. Never had a heater in it, but at some time it had a canvas top and doors. Never had a roll bar.

I believe the 63jeep is the last year for Willys Jeeps. I think 1964 Jeeps are AMC Jeeps. I was told this Jeep spent 40 years in Tucson and the rest of its life in Phoenix.
