1983 Jeep CJ Description

NO RESERVE LISTING!
1983 Jeep CJ7 Laredo. 2-owner all original vehicle.
The only thing modified on this vehicle is the speedometer cluster. The previous owner stated the cluster was replaced because the fuel gauge never read correctly. Well, if you know these CJ's, they never read correctly and the culprit is likely the fuel sending unit! Though a replacement cluster is in the vehicle, I did get the original cluster from the previous owner and there is nothing wrong with it. It's in excellent condition and reads the vehicle's true mileage, which is just under 108k. The new cluster, which was installed about 6 months ago, reads just under 90 miles. The mileage on this vehicle is very accurate. The Jeep runs ok, but it'll need a tune up to make it run perfect.
Well, where to start.... I bought this Jeep, and a couple of others, to fully restore them. I'm a collector of classic vehicles and not a "flipper" by any means. I love old cars and the CJ's are where my heart is. I've owned several of them over the years and there are a few I really regret selling! With this in mind, I have purchased them over the past several months, but my plans with what to do with them have changed. The only CJ I'm keeping is my pristine, low mileage Scrambler, so the rest are going. I'm not looking to make money. If I break even, I'm happy. If I lose some money, so be it. If I happen to make a few hundred dollars, then I'm really happy! It is what it is...
Again, aside from the speedometer cluster, and aftermarket carburetor, this vehicle is completely unmodified. It drives, but definitely needs tune up. No noticeable leaks from any part of it. The paint, decals, seats, carpet, etc. are all completely original, and it shows. The paint is faded, and so are the decals. The seats have the typical cracks a 33 year old Jeep would have.
Rust... there is a little tiny bit of rust around the top of the windshield. It is very small, and likely not "through rust". There is also some surface rust on the front floor boards under the carpet. Nothing looks bad from under the Jeep. Overall, this Jeep is very solid and if restored, would not need a tremendous amount of work. If you're not going to restore it and just use it as-is, there is no need to even worry about the surface rust as it is superficial.
There are a couple of small dents on the Jeep. The PO was a cattle farmer, and he had a calf run in to the passenger side door, so there is a small dent there. Also, the PO told me he backed in to a tree. So the driver side rear tail light was smashed (replaced by the PO), and it caused a slight dent to the body. Nothing significant and can easily be repaired, or left as is. The photo shows the damage. I think you'll agree it is very minor.
This Jeep does have factory AC, which still blows cold! The condenser is a little beat up and will eventually need replaced, but as of now, still works.
The doors and hard top are awesome! The hard top is in perfect shape, and I don't think it has ever been removed. The PO told me he never removed it and the original owner only had it for a few years and sold it to the PO with under 10k miles. This is pretty good evidence that it has never been off the vehicle.
I'm trying to be as transparent as I possibly can and tell you everything I know about the Jeep. This Jeep is really clean, not perfect, but pretty good. Please, if you have any questions, please ask before bidding. I will give you all the information I possibly can about the Jeep. This Jeep is NOT misrepresented in the slightest. If you're looking for a nice, all-original Laredo, this is the one. They are very hard to find, even in this condition.
