2005 Jeep Liberty SUV/ MPV, CRD, Trail Rated, 5-Door, 4WD - 4 Wheel Drive -4x4, Jeep 2.8 Liter Turbo Diesel Engine, Automatic Transmission, Full Time or Part Time 4-Wheel Drive w/High & Low and 2WD Transfer Case, Cruise Control, Hydraulic Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks, AM/FM/CD Stereo, Air Conditioning, Heat, Vent, Defrost, Power Cloth Seats, Carpet, Spare Tire, Owner’s Manual, Trailer Receiver Hitch, GVWR – 5,650#, GAWR Front – 2,750#, GAWR Rear – 3,150#, 235/70R16 Tires, VIN: 1J4GL48525W657734, 121,483 Miles.

Located in Mississippi, we purchased this SUV as a repossession from a finance company, we were told it was running rough when purchased and knew that prior to buying so we carried to a local mechanic that we thought was familiar with these engines, he said it needed (3) injectors so we ordered those and he installed (injectors were $500 each and have receipt showing just that – will add scanned copy of receipts to photo bucket photo links), after replacing he could not make the engine do anything but idle and claimed he needed a certain tool to remove the valve cover and did not have it, charged $400 for his time and moved on – needless to say we will not use him again, the SUV was then carried to a diesel mechanic that had the correct tool and took engine apart to tell us we either needed an engine or a rebuild kit, at that point decided to not sink any more money into the little Jeep and sell it! As you can see it is in very good condition all around, paint/body, interior, tires, etc. are all good, the transmission shifts great (when it was running) and 4x4 works properly. We do not know it’s history or have any records or knowledge prior to us buying it from the bank, not sure what happen while the previous owner was driving or had possession of, the 2nd mechanic said these things can do that if the timing belt breaks or slips, he saw no sign of it breaking when tore apart. The SUV was purchased to repair and just have as an extra vehicle running around town and riding on property, to the creek, etc. but after getting to that point decided not to continue on with the expense! This is the perfect situation for someone that knows about these diesel engines, can work on them or is in to rebuilding them, replacing, etc. You are buying the SUV to match the photos and videos of this listing, to have an engine problem – engine torn apart and will not currently crank or run, Jeep has a clean, clear transferable title, otherwise as-is!
