1979 Jeep CJ Description

Jeep CJ 5 1979 Silver Anniversary Jeep from the great state of Texas. Here is the history that I have. About 10 years ago it went through an expensive frame off restoration. Then there was the nasty divorce. Probably the result of the Jeep. It then sat for a couple of years, in a storage warehouse until the litigation was over. That’s where someone stole the top, doors, seats, rugs, center console, rear wheel well pads, spare tire, stereo, winch, fog lights, battery, and Holley four BBL carb. They tried to pry the silver anniversary emblem off the glove box door but only managed to break off a little bit of it. They also tried to steal the tires and wheels, but they had lug locks on them. But boy did they try. Everything I say is what I was told as I have no receipts for anything. The engine is a 304 done in a machine shop. Hot hydraulic cam, balanced, with head work. Headman headers run under the jeep with stainless turbo mufflers tucked in nicely and routed over the rear axle and exiting behind the rear tires. Obviously an expensive pro-job, and it sounds awesome, really awesome! It’s a four speed with a creeper first, Dana 44 locker rear. Rough country springs provide the lift as the body is not lifted. New best top seats front and rear. New Holley four BBL with electric choke. I have the top hardware from around the tub and the top bows, but no top or doors just a bikini. Its way to fast for a CJ 5, even though it does drive like its on rails. Tilt wheel with power steering and brakes. All the heater controls work. Clean New York State title in my name at this address. I have the Texas DMV stickers off the windshield that will go with the sale. I would be willing to use this jeep as partial payment towards a C1 or C2 driver quality Corvette, as that is going to be my next toy. Please forgive the dust as it has mostly just been sitting in the barn for the last couple of years.
I know that selling a topless CJ 5 in September is like trying to sell a boat or motorcycle now, or a snowmobile in the spring. So this is the last time I will advertise it at a reduced reserve price till next year. This is a nice jeep.
Feel free to ask questions, I will be honest. John
