1982 Defender 109 - ONE OF A KIND & ALL WHEEL DRIVE
1982 Land Rover Defender roof rack & safari convertible, Description
V-8 4.6 liter gas Land Rover engine. Edelbrock engine carb. conversion done in 2009. 4 speed manual right hand drive, British style. Engine runs smooth and can easily cruise at highway speeds. Have relied on this vehicle in the forests of Colorado at altitudes of 10,800 feet. This vehicle was manufactured in Britain for the military. 100% legally imported and registered, so no gimmicks of someone selling you a foreign car title.Owned 10 years by my wife and I. We had a 2009 restoration of a 4.6 crate Land Rover engine, rebuilt and full check up of differentials as well as a custom stainless steel exhaust system for better performance. Routine servicing done by local mechanic. This vehicle is loads of fun and gets the attention, especially when driving with my dog. As the vehicle is British style right hand drive, the dog appears to be in the driver seat. For a 35 year old truck it is in very good shape. Larger load range C tires. The roof is a Tropical Safari Convertible, so the roof can be removed with home tools. The roof also has internal manual vents that are weather proof, being placed between the dual roofs. There are two folding side bench seats, designed for transporting the military and two rows of single seats, three to a row. On the fifth door (back door) there is a holder for a second spare tire. There is an internal storage for tools under one of the folding bench seats. We installed an engine kill switch that is easily used from driver seat and take the key with you, includes a spare key.VIN #SALLBCMV1AA182080
